There is also a sticky situation where, by RAW, a Deff Rolla does work on a vehicle, and that is in the case of a Dreadnought. The Deff Rolla states that in addition to other effects, any unit that decides to 'Death or Glory' against a Deff Rolla takes an additional d6 STR 10 hits.

If a Dreadnought decides to Death or Glory against a Deff Rolla wagon, it will take d^ STR 10 hits, regardless of ram or tank shock or whatever. In my opinion, this is a situation where the rules start to unravel. A decision needs to be made one way or another regarding Deff Rollas and vehicles, and it needs to be in an FAQ.

But knowing GW... I ain't holding my breath.

Can a Dred even Death or Glory?

Yep, check the section about walkers in combat. They can opt to Death or Glory against a ramming vehicle. If they do so, and fail to stop the vehicle, they take the ram damage against their rear armor because they attempted to strike the vehicle instead of bracing to take the hit.

After the ruling at 'ard boyz I didn't think it was ambiguous anymore...

Except that someone forgot to update the Ork FAQ. Really, does anyone live under such a rock that they wouldn't have heard the 'Ard Boyz ruling and yet still looks for the online FAQ? Maybe, but I can't imaging that's a big group of people.

Especially at the 'Ard Boyz, why isn't that ruling codified immediately? You'd think FAQ at big GW tournaments would trickle up to the GW officially posted FAQ.

I wonder if now all these blogs posting about it if that is "frequent" enough for GW? :)

It all boils down to whether a ram counts as a tank shock. I can see both sides of the debate here, but I don't want to saddle up that old horse as it looks like it might be dead.

I heard that at Ard Boyz Deffrollas were hitting vehicles in a lot of local shops, up until the finals where hitting vehicles stopped working.

The rules on rollas are kinda silly since they have no AP. Let me go out and buy a flak jacket and lay under a steamroller, I should be fine.

Cinematically (or "the cool factor") tells me deffrollas should hurt vehicles but I'm biased since I love greenskins.

Yeah I totally thought it was the Ard Boyz ruling that put an end to the lameness.
