I started a brand new website for the Gameshoppe crew to call home. The WARPgamers are a group that will be attending RTTs and various events around the midwest. We are about 8 strong so far but we hope to gain more members soon. Look for more updates, and if you have an event that you would like to add post on our forums.
Now, on to the awesomeness that is my game at Dragon’s Lair 2 with Russ Barnes yesterday. Russ is a great guy, and is also one of the original gamers in Omaha. He has been playing 40K since the Rogue Trader days, and Fantasy since it’s inception. We had a friendly game of 2000 points at DL2 with my Eldar vs. his Chaos Marines. I have it all video taped and as soon as I get around to it I’ll put it up online. It’ll be after my other battle reports get edited. Which hopefully can get done this weekend in between my scheduled games with Roland practicing for the ‘Ard Boyz.
I still haven’t decided if I’m going to take my Blood Angels or my Eldar for the ‘Ard Boyz. Both lists are really fun. But both lists also have a lot of uphill battles to climb with the new Dark Eldar, Grey Knights and the old stick in the mud IG.
I have to say, I don’t really enjoy IG as much anymore. About a year ago I did. I thought they were a fun fight. But now that you can’t face a guard player without Psyker Battle Squads…well. It really doesn’t make games fun anymore.
But that’s ok. I’ll hopefully be able to ram a few PBSs down guard player’s throats with the lists I’m planning.
I placed 4th in the ‘Ard Boyz last year with 2 wins and 1 tie at the end. Cory actually had one more battle point than I did and took 3rd. It was fun, but I doubt I’ll get that far this year. I’m playing with a purely experimental army. But I am going to have fun. We will see. Maybe the night before the tournament I’ll put my list up here for everyone to see. But I don’t want to give anything away yet.
