Tits for Tournaments: Top ITC Tournament Lists May 2016

Warning

Tits for Tournaments is rated factually opinionated. Expect results, army lists, and some light bitching about boring spam lists to follow.

Before we get to the lists, click on the link below to see the past and future large events for the ITC 2016 Circuit.

Blood of Kittens attempts to provide continued coverage of all the large ITC events in a monthly post showcasing the top army lists we can find.

This particular post chronicles the large events for May 2016.

May saw two Major Events and two GTs.

The first GT of May 2016 happened, May 14th-15rd with Scorched Earth Open in Peroia, AZ. It produced the following top three winners.

  1. Frankie Giampapa 1st Overall Scorched Earth GT 2016
  2. Vincent Arroyo 2nd Overall Scorched Earth 2016
  3. Trevor Sandoval 3rd Overall Scorched Earth 2016

The next event was the Major Event the Alamo GT, held in San Antonio, Texas. Alamo GT, allowed pretty much everything in the book creating some interesting lists, lead by a power Tau unit few have seen in the competitive environment.

  1. Joshua Dearth 1st Overall Alamo GT 2016
  2. Thomas Reidy 2nd Overall Alamo GT 2016
  3. John Cook 3rd Overall Alamo GT 2016

The following weekend May 28-29th we had the Poland Team Championship 2016 in Warsaw, Poland. From what I could translate, this was pretty much ETC practice with major clubs in Poland and around Europe participating. I couldn’t find any lists of winners, so sadly no lists, but if anyone has information please send an email my way to get the lists added.

Over the same week we did get a American event featuring some of the best US players, at the Midwest Conquest GT in Kansas City, MO.

  1. Tyler deVries 1st Overall Midwest Conquest 2016
  2. Trent Northington 2nd Overall Midwest Conquest 2016
  3. Aaron Aleong 3rd Over Midwest Conquest 2016

Those are the top lists for the month May. Almost every large event in May used a different set of army building rules from the next, what that means about the meta is anyone’s guess. We didn’t seem to have an epidemic of illegal lists either which is good, but with so many more events in June we shall see if that trend holds.

Below is the current breakdown of what armies are winning events. The breakdown combines all events for the year so far, taking the top three winners for each Major and GT event.

  • 11 Eldar
  • 7 Daemon
  • 5 Tau
  • 4 Space Marine
  • 3 Dark Angels
  • 2 Chaos Space Marines
  • 1 Tyranid
  • 1 Ad-Mech
  • 1 Harlequin

If you want to see more lists broken down by army/codex you can always check out the 7th Edition Top Army List Compendium. The gap between Eldar and the rest of the field continues to narrow, it looks like the new Daemon rules are really changing the meta. June will see a ton of events, so if Eldar don’t perform well a new number one could emerge.

See you again here next month as we get a ton of more events added for ITC 2016 season!
