Dethtron Solves the Foreign Relations Crisis

Thanks to the magic of WordPress, I’ve discovered an unfinished draft for a post dating all the way back to June….  In light of some recent events and what not, I’ve decided to resurrect this and update it.  I hope this sparks a conversation that needs to happen around the topic.

There is a growing trend in the 40k community that is really starting to get to me- broadly generalizing gaming styles by nationality.  If you’ve been following BoLS for the last 24 hours you’ll probably have some idea why I’m particularly irked right now ~so this should probably be changed to the last  6 months; here is the article in question, but rest assured this is something that’s been bugging me for quite a while now.  More of this should materialize later this week, say around Friday ~this actually popped up 6/25/10, so here is that FNIF, but I wanted to get some shit off my chest now. Friday Night Internet Fight: Round 39

This week we’ve got a special fight.  I’ve been looking for a WFB fight for a long while now, at least as long as I’ve given a shit about WFB again.  Unfortunately, most of the fantasy community is too civil and/or really fucking boring.  Then I stumbled across this gem at Warseer. (more…)

FNIF: Round 38 Results show

Due to holiday travel and sketchy Internet access- it seems that neither my mother or Dr. Girlfriend’s parents have embraced the wonders of having a working high-speed wireless connection, posting has been light this week.  The next FNIF won’t probably be up until very late tonight or early tomorrow.  Apologies and all that, but I just haven’t had the time or technology yet.  Anyway, I can update you on one of the best FNIF’s we’ve had for a little while: Round 38.  After the poll closed, we peaked with 93 total votes, the most we’ve had in some time, so nice job.

In sad sad news for humanity, though Anal_parsons_project seems to have pulled out the win for being a sexist tool or an epic troll.  Too bad his posts were actually deleted shortly after appearing here.  His efforts, such as they were, were still enough to capture 37% of the vote though just beating out “do you want to see my ten page letter…” and “I don’t think whoever wins….applies here” at 23% and 20% respectively.

Runner up for actual participants goes to Melissia of all people with 6% of the vote.  It’s sad, but I think I edited out all of the crazy on her part this week.  That’s what I get for trying to summarize the good shit in a 17 page thread.  Live and learn I guess.  Until next time….

Friday Night Internet Fight: Round 38

It’s still Friday somewhere, right?  The short version of the story is that some 14 hours after I began writing, rewriting, and re-rewriting this piece I have discontinued use of Internet Explorer once and for all.  All hail Firefox.  (more…)

A Call to Arms, Will it Pick Up or Just Hit Ignore?

Crappy title aside, I’ve had a maddeningly frustrating day of pseudo-work and have decided to bring project mayhem out of retirement for one last run in order to vent my frustrations about life- and this one doesn’t involve blowing up a museum. (more…)
