Hey folks just a quick heads up for you fans of classic roleplaying games. I’ve got a number of auctions going on eBay right now that include a number of Vampire the Masquerade and D&D books. There’s also a FW chaos renegades kit in there as well as some other awesome goodies. Please note that most of the books are being sold on behalf of Dr. Girlfriend, so I cannot claim ownership of Twighlight.
The summer of selfishness continues…..
I’ll have some pics up of the newly completed gaming room/basement shortly, but thought I’d interrupt all of that noise to share with you my new plans for “operation pay the mortgage” which now has me selling off tons of my unused stuff at low low prices on ebay. If you’ve ever wanted to own your very own set of issues 4-20 of No quarter, they could be yours.
Seriously, though, go check the auctions out, there’s lots of good stuff to be had and you’ll be helping out a good cause….me. I’ve got quite a lot of Cygnar stuff for warmachine as well as all of my Mercenaries and a few Menoth odds and ends. Hell I’ve even got some out of print GW modls and a set of epic 40k dice so old that I’ve forgotten what they were even for. But that’s not all, there are tons of video games, new and old, and a fucking Gamecube!
Follow this link to the auctions.
Now for legal reasons I cannot advise you to drive up the prices on my auction with no intent to buy, but if that did happen without my suggesting you to do so….. well, I’m just sayin’.
Hooray, we’re back on the regular posting schedule at long last. But ho ho, it’s not that easy. It could never be that easy. Brace yourselves for what may go down as one of the most entertainingly painful FNIFs of all time. I have to give it up to WidthofaCircle for a) being a huge Bowie fan b) e-mailing me this thread and c) preserving everything that Taak spit out before getting banned and his shit deleted.
From the BoLS lounge we have yet another post on The Decline of 40K. If there is one thing I’m sick of at this point in my life it’s posts about the decline of 40k. If there are two things I’m sick of it’s posts about the decline of 40k and posts about GW’s finances. Luckily this thread has both. I think there may be a rant on this subject brewing in me that will materialize eventually, but we’ll see if I can get my rage out on this one. Long story short, I’m sick of all the whining for no reason (never seen a customer base who hates their core product so much) and am sick of people who don’t understand how businesses run, finance, or economics, trying to pontificate about how GW is inept or evil, as they are neither. Sorry, didn’t mean to drop my secret knowledge on you so early, but there’s plenty more to come. (more…)
I had alluded to a fruitless search through Dakka Dakka yesterday looking for the newest FNIF contender. That’s not entirely true, though, as I found something entirely positive.
Some of you may recall a few FNIFs ago I pissed off quite a few people as I ragged on the ineptitude of many FLGS owners who are being run out of business by the Internet because they can’t compete. Some people even went so far as to call me a capitalist. Not sure how that’s supposed to be insulting since we do live in a capitalist society. Regardless, being a least a moderate Keynesian, I would not even consider rethinking or taking back a single statement I made at that time. (more…)
It’s been a hectic week for me between pseudo-work, getting ready for my next semester of grad school, writing up a killer article for the HoP that required some time-consuming modeling/photography, and getting ready to drop a FNIF and a FNIF: Extra Innings this week. Oh, there was also a bit where I lost my entire Monday to a Vet appointment for my dog that was two and a half hours away and completely unnecessary, though it did allow me to meet a fellow HoP author in person for the first time. As such, my continued neglect of Dick Move has….continued. This also means that I haven’t gotten a chance to throw a bit of bile at two subjects that I really feel the need to comment on: GW’s legal action against Chapterhouse Studios and GW’s recent financial “woes.” (more…)
