Friday Night Internet Fight: 6th ed up the Wazoo

So here’s what happened- turns out it was Thursday and I didn’t even know it and forgot to write my normal “Gaming on a Budget” post for the blog I still care about writing on.  So then I open my inbox and see a link to some serious shenanigans over on 3++ sent to me by Artemi.  Given that I missed my normal post and had nothing better to do, I was all like ‘fuck it, I’ll write a fuckin’ FNIF, but this time I’m going to fucking swear a lot or at least as much as normal, since people really seem to take you more seriously when you cuss.’ It didn’t hurt that many of the All Stars of FNIF show up on this as well.

Friday Night Internet Fight: Round 2.12

Happy Rapture Day Everybody!  Don’t forget to put an empty set of clothes arranged in the shape of a human out in your yard to fuck with nut jobs.

There’s been some exciting news about GW over the past week.  It looks like the rumors about the resin conversion are true, there’s some kind of embargo in lands that already have scary ass nature to deal with, and GW predictably announced their new price structure.  In other predictable news, the Internet gaming community has, yet again, proved to have a very limited grasp on what it takes to run a business, all the while praising PP for exhibiting a whole host of the same practices, business decisions, etc as GW- really the only differentiator right now is that PP’s models look like dogshit and they have shown a slightly higher propensity to listen and acknowledge that the Internet exists (which might not be such a great thing since it’s largely populated by a bunch of crazy ass people- trust me you’ll see…). Friday Night Internet Fight: Round 2.11

While the rest of the blogosphere seems to be stuck dreaming in a post-apocalyptic wonderland after The Day, during which blogger failed, those of us using Word Press will have to carry on.  Having organized my things at NORAD, it’s time to sit down and pump out another FNIF.  Since the Grey Knights have been out for a few months now and I haven’t really had anything more profound than ‘god damn I hate that fucking space monkey’ to say, I think it’s high time we visited this new codex.

From Dakka Dakka’s sometimes entertaining You Make Da Call, today we’ll be dealing with the same psichic power twice?, a thread that I can guarantee you is not as lacking in spelling as the title would lead you to believe.  Alas, we must soldier on, regardless. This will be a hard fought battle, no doubt, as well.  I think I even change my opinion on the rule about halfway through, so good luck determining if anybody is right, or if it even matters. Friday Night Internet Fight: Round 2.10

Hooray, we’re back on the regular posting schedule at long last.  But ho ho, it’s not that easy.  It could never be that easy.  Brace yourselves for what may go down as one of the most entertainingly painful FNIFs of all time.  I have to give it up to WidthofaCircle for a) being a huge Bowie fan b) e-mailing me this thread and c) preserving everything that Taak spit out before getting banned and his shit deleted.

From the BoLS lounge we have yet another post on The Decline of 40K.  If there is one thing I’m sick of at this point in my life it’s posts about the decline of 40k.  If there are two things I’m sick of it’s posts about the decline of 40k and posts about GW’s finances.  Luckily this thread has both.  I think there may be a rant on this subject brewing in me that will materialize eventually, but we’ll see if I can get my rage out on this one.  Long story short, I’m sick of all the whining for no reason (never seen a customer base who hates their core product so much) and am sick of people who don’t understand how businesses run, finance, or economics, trying to pontificate about how GW is inept or evil, as they are neither.  Sorry, didn’t mean to drop my secret knowledge on you so early, but there’s plenty more to come. Friday Night Internet Fight: Round 2.8

Making up for lost time, here’s the lost FNIF for a limited time only.  Seems perfectly sensible to have this on a Wednesday night, right?  It should also be interesting, since every time I’ve used a reddit thread in the past has lead to near insta-trolling over here.  We’ll tough it out and see what happens, though- this should keep things interesting if nothing else.  Wewtzor sent me the tip on this thread along with an apology for being involved.  I really marvel at people’s motivation sometimes, but I’m getting old and crotchety, so I’ll just complain about rap music and not understanding the kids at this point.

Land Raider Crusader full of Assault Terminators. Before I buy, am I putting too many points in one basket? may well be one of the most horribly derailed threads I’ve seen in a while.  Ok, well that SoB rumors thread was far worse, but I’d like to imagine I live in a world where that didn’t happen.  There were actually some helpful pieces of info for the OP, so I think he got a few things to mull over out of it.  And we are getting a fight out of it.
