Welcome YTTH readers- Pardon Our Mess

Hey all, I wasn’t expecting to get any significant traffic this early in the game, so I apologize for the general lack of sexy over here at “Dick Move.” It’s early days for this blog, so don’t be afraid of its rough appearance. Nevertheless, thanks to Stelek over at “Yes the Truth Hurts” for linking to my first article.

I’d also like to ask for anybody with any sort of artistic abilities to submit logo ideas. I was thinking something really classy like Calvin peeing on something (we are the champagne of blogs, after all), but am open to just about anything that sums up the emotional brand that is “Dick Move.” Unfortunately I have 0 ability when it comes to the digital arts. As an added bonus, if you come up with a design that I use, I will exempt your own blog from being the subject of my shenanigans for 1 whole month. WOW!!!

Who is Dethtron and what is this "Dick Move" of which he speaks?

I am an avid tabletop wargamer on the cusp of 30 living in Chicago. Although my gaming group is small, I try to get in as many games as I can and have experience dating back to some time around 1992. My current interests include Warhammer 40k, Warhammer Fantasy, Battletech, and Shadowrun. In the past I have also played Warmachine, D&D, and a whole host of other pen and paper roleplaying games. I am currently a short while away from being considered part of a common law marriage and am pursuing an MBA while funemployed. In addition to being a huge nerd, I play drums in several bands and boast a CD/Record collection that dwarfs some record stores.

Enough about me, though. What is Dick Move? A tough question indeed. Many months ago I had a dream. I wanted to set out and create a site where I can let members of the tabletop wargaming community with an online presence know just how fucking stupid they can be. Fan inspired units and rules, flawed tactical advice, narrow-mindedness, a lack of writing skills, and so on are all fair game for my derision. The creation of this blog brings my dream to fruition and gives me a much needed vehicle to say what I can’t say elsewhere. Here, I can speak the opinions I have in the way I want and in a manner that would likely get me banned from other sites.

I will not now, nor likely ever, present myself as a master of the gaming arts. To do so would be pretentious. My strategies are not always sound. My lists often lack development. I cannot paint at the Golden Demon Level. I often end games drunk enough to nearly damage my carefully painted miniatures. In short, I have all of the flaws of most human beings and recognize that I will never be perfect.

What I can promise, however, is that I will bring some of the worst that the wargaming community has to offer into the light, and will do so in the least constructive way possible. With that, I present “Dick Move” and a hope to entertain and enlighten you for some time to come.
