Continuing in the fine tradition of the summer of selfishness, operation pay the mortgage has hit a new milestone with my band, Crusader, having our EP “Rise of the Templars” released on iTunes this week.

The Bloggers of Blogging: Putting some swagger in the stylish blogger awards: the art of obnoxiously long titles!.

With real life taking precedence over fake Internet life with my fake persona and my persona’s secret alter ego, I have not had time to respond to the 3 separate Stylish Blogger award nominations that I’ve received in the last week or so.  Thanks to Lauby, Dave G, and the Antipope in reverse order for nominating me- now please people, stop sending me invitations to join your damn pyramid scheme!

Along with the huge cash prize I have received in my mind, comes the responsibility of sending awards out to 10-15 bloggers and sharing 7 things about myself (I think numerology suggests everything you need to know about that last bit).  Now here’s where things get interesting.  If I invest $1,000 at the ground level and each person I invite invests $1,000, I will get $100 from each of them, and 1/2 that amount for every person up the chain who is invited.  Next, we all begin working for Primerica, consolidate all of mankind’s debts into a single 30 year loan bearing a 4% interest rate, and solve world hunger.  It’s beautiful in its simplicity.

Metal Up Your Adepticon!!!!

This is just the first of what will become more frequent reminders for those of you who plan to attend this year’s Adepticon that my band, Crusader, will be playing a show Saturday 4/2 at the Brauerhaus II in Lombard, just a few minutes drive from the Adepticon site.  Hoagy and I will be out there flyering for the event and nerding out all day.

Still working out the details of the show with idiot event promoters, so I’ll post more specifics about cover, times, other bands on the bill, etc as soon as possible.

We’ve just gotten in the first pressing of our EP, so this show will be the first time where it will be made available to the public.  Several boxes of new shirts are also inbound, so I know how you can spend a few bucks on….

HoP Contest!!!

Lauby and my blog network, the House of Paincakes, is running a contest to name the blog rolls.  He and I are generously pulling things from our eBay piles to give some glorious prizes to the man (or lady) who can name the soon to be 4 blog rolls.  What’s more, the winner will also get thrown into the infinitely prizeier Pay it Forward contest from Miniature Wargames Conversion.

Just to save you some time, we’re not interested in thematic organization of the rolls (40k, Warmachine, WFB, hobby, tactics, etc etc), so keep in mind that we’re looking for something arbitrary.  I can’t stress this enough- 40k, WFB, Warmahordes, and FoW would not be acceptable titles, while something like up down, left right, ABBA, and Start would be fine.

Music To Game By

Sorry for a lack of updates, but dog knee surgery, a blown head gasket, stock valuation project with a group from hell, and pseudo-work are keeping me down at the moment.   I have a few ideas in the bag for things that need to happen, but won’t likely be able to dedicate much time the rest of this week other than for FNIF related stuff.

In other news, Music to Game By: Tzeentch is up on BoK network so why don’t you go check out part three of my infinite part series where I marry a soundtrack to everyone’s favorite 40K races.  Feel free to comment there as this most recent post is a little on the lonely side.  Apparently people aren’t down with posts that drop Saint Saens, the Aquabats, and Megadeth together.
