Da Grand Waaagh is over and with it a much improved event from the first year. More players, better terrain, smoother logistics, and still the best venue around made Da Grand Waaagh a great success. For event this size it had the best terrain I have seen this year.

Still some things must be done to make this event even better. The player judged comp and judge comp has to go simple as that. The missions also need to be simplified and balanced. The last mission was simply terrible. At least twenty players had complaints about this mission, made only worse with hearing complaints about judges making rulings that totally contradict the rules as written in the basic rule book. Here is a scanned copy of the final mission to illustrate some of the problems.

Not only does this mission force your entire army into reserve and with the random game length you end up having no real control over your army. For foot slogging armies you have to go the entire table length to achieve certain objectives. Throw on top you must have 2 more victory conditions than your opponent to get a Win making it an overly difficult mission to not tie on. I am sure others can find even more problems with this mission, but those were the big ones.

Fixing these issues are feasible and I hope players will fill out their feed back sheets that will be mailed out this week.

Before we get to the army lists and winners here is some pictures and video of the final tables…
