And just like that the final event of the 2010-2011 inaugural Independent Tournament Circuit is done. It is only fitting that we end with Imperial Guard and Orks taking the last two invites to Vegas. SoCal Slaughter saw 34 players duke it out. It was a soft score event with 100 Battle Points, 30 Sportsmanship Points, 30 Composition Points, and 40 Appearance Points possible for a total of 200 points available for the Tournament. For more details on how they scored this event check out this link…

As for the results they are here…

The most impressive thing about the results is just how sucky Reece Robbins was almost coming in dead last! This is what he gets for not taking Space Wolves. As for the winner lists.

Christian Alessi was the clear winner having the most battle points with a Leaf Blower style list that looked something like this…3 Vendettas

3 Maticores

6 Mech Vets

will let you fill in the rest…

Best General was a Doug Johnson’s Battlewagon Orks with list details I am unaware of.

The top tables were IG vs. Nids and Orks vs. Space Wolves

Something I have started to notice (will have an article about it) is the precipitous drop in Space Wolf players. The Slaughter in Space had only ONE Space Wolf player and anecdotally this is happening elsewhere. The reason for it… is guess?

So we jump right in to the new season of the circuit this weekend with the Gateway Grand Tournament. I will also have an article wrap-up looking back at the growing pains of GW letting everyone else put on tournaments.
