This weekend is a general nerd convention CelsestiCon held in scenic Fremont, California. This convention in its (I believe) third year and is bigger and better every year.

All players of this event will be assigned as champions for one of the three Podcasts of The West Coast Podcast Alliance. Each participant, along with their assigned team will battle it out to determine who the final victor is! Players will battle it out for control of themed battlefields over two rounds, which will allow them to take actions in support of the rest of their teams, dropping orbital bombardments, providing medical support, or even calling in airstrikes!

This will be a fun, friendly event where you can have a few laughs, throw some dice and get to know your opponents and hosts of the Podcasts! Criteria: Warhammer 40k 6th Edition rules. All Current Codexes and Supplements. 1850 Point armies, Allies, Fortifications and 40k Approved Forge World units allowed. Please bring 3 Copies of your army list.

The Scouring of Persiet V

Participants will help decided the fate of an Imperial Hive world and a vital Adeptus Mechanicus manufactorum in the Persiet system on the eastern fringe of the galaxy. Will the forces of the Imperium and the allies save the system or will it be subjugated or worse destroyed by the forces of Chaos and their nefarious allies.

The Forces of Order:
Anything Imperial
Eldar
Tau (representing Deluvian mercenary allies)

Forces of Destruction:
Anything Chaos, including traitor IG should the need arise
Dark Eldar
Orks

Necrons are a Neutral force that will be used to balance the sides.

13 Players: 7 Order/6 Disorder

This will be a large team run event (teams determined on the day of the event) fought over 2 different battle zones. Each table will be able to affect the others through the use of special mission objectives.

Anyone wishing to participate in this event needs to contact the GM via email once registered. joekoolpanzer@gmail.com

There will be pre-event postings about the event on http://galaxyinflames.blogspot.com/ starting in June.

Allowed Armies:
Armies can be built from all current 40k codices including the White Dwarf codex for the Sisters of Battle, and may also include or be built to include units or completely using the army lists in the Imperial Armor books. Units and list may only be draw for Imperial Armor books 5-12, IA Areonautica and the IA Apoc books.

With that said all IA units and lists must use the most current listing for the unit, which includes the Errata listed on the Forgeworld site. So for example the Renegades and Heretics list from the Siege of Vraks uses the update on the forgeworld site.

All armies are built using the following requirements: 2100 points all armies must adhere to the standard Force Organization chart, you may only use a single force organization chart; You may include allies and may include one super heavy vehicle with no more than 3 structure points. Your force may not contain more than 700 points in Flyers; also you may not purchase Fortifications; some will already be present on each table.

All players may purchase up to two quad guns or Icarus lascannons without the defense line. I would also appreciate if all players bring a 700 point sideboard list in case the sides end up being lopsided.

We need one Space Marine player to build a list with no tanks, skimmers or flyers. This player will take part in the boarding action of the Chaos flagship.

Each table will have a special character for each side created and provided. They will represent the army commanders of that theater for narrative purposes.

The Event is subject to the following rules:

WYSIWYG:
All models are expected to be WYSIWYG as much as is reasonable. Proxies are not permitted. However, counts as armies are acceptable and encouraged. What’s the difference? That can be a tough call to make in some cases. The GM will determine what is acceptable or not and all judgments are final.

Proxies: Using Necron Warriors as Lootas in an Ork army, etc.

Counts As: Using Ultra Marines colored models with Blood Angels rules. Using custom Adeptus Mechanicus converted models with Daemon rules. The key is that everything is easily identifiable and appropriately equipped.

Painting:
Every army must be painted to a three color minimum and be based. (basing can be as simple as painting your models bases an appropriate color.) We want a great looking event filled with painted models fighting over nice looking terrain.

Then on Monday Frontline Gaming is running there own Zombie game.

Warhammer 40K Zombie Survival Game!

Monday 10 AM in Salon IV, table M1-M16 for 6 hours
GM: Reece Robbins
Type: Miniature
System: Warhammer 40K
Edition: Survive the Zombie Apocal
Players: 32
Provided: Players must provide own characters
Rules Knowledge: Beginners Welcome
Game Content: Mainstream

We will have rules to build out a hero from any army! Players interact with one another as if they were battle brothers (so yes, their powers can work on one another), but they cannot join together to form a unit. Every man for himself! There will be bonuses to be earned through the game to heal up, boost your power and help the brave and tough to survive! Level up and put the dead back in the dirt! Slow Zombies! Fast Zombies! Boss Battles! Craziness!

This will be a fast paced, super fun event all about leveling up your warrior and making out of the event in one piece!

The special event I referred to is though is happening on Saturday August 30th.

The West Coast Podcast Alliance Live Podcasting Event

The West Coast Podcast Alliance Live Podcasting Event

If you are a fan of The Independent Characters, Life After The Cover Save, or Imperial Voxcast, you are not going to want to miss a chance to take part in a live taping of The West Coast Podcast Alliance! The crew of all three shows will be present to record a show with a live audience, and the best part is you have a chance to be a part of it!

You may have a chance to take place in a Game-Show style segment, complete with prizes! Along with the rest of the show, there will also be a Q&A segment where audience members will be able to step up to the mic and ask any of us anything they want.

Be a part of the show. Join us for fun!

Direct all question to carl@theindependentcharacters.com

I don't think a live show like this has ever been tried and sounds like a super amount of fun. I will have a minor part to play in this event. As I will be pimping a major announcement from Blood of Kittens. So, if you want to meet some of the most positive (minus me) people in our community I suggest you attend this event and hell you might win some prizes. Just bring your nerd knowledge at the ready!

As well, In will be playing in the Saturday Tournament run by Doc Dragon. I will see if can continue my unbeaten (5-o-1) streak for CelestiCon, though I have a feeling it might be broken this time around.

Well hope to see as many of you locals there as possible!

Warning

Westside is rated cliquish for focusing on one region of the country over another with events and tournaments only West Coasters can enjoy.
