Watching stocks over the short-term is often an experiment in futility. On February 2nd 2015 we looked back at the state of Games Workshop's stock price and general financial health. In the last report, GW had released it semi-annual report providing insight into the financial health of the company.

This post will look at two things. Just how GW stock has fared since its not so stellar report and the little surprises GW sprung on investors.

Since the last report, Europe has faced naughty Greeks blackmailing the continent bringing a large amount of uncertainty to the markets. As it pertains to GW these macro events have very little effect, unless broader trends take hold.

Before we look at the last 30 days, lets see where GW stands year-to-year.

As you can see GW's stock hasn't changed much over the last year, barely over half a percent. We had highs above 600 during the summer last year, but it quickly dried up with some changes in stocks and the selection of a new CEO. Overall, their hasn't been much recovery from the 25% drop of Jan. 2014. GW is treading water for as long as either dividends continue to be paid out or profits rise.

Let us see how the stock has performed since our last post, and go over some interesting fluctuations.

As you can see the last month has been damn good with a 3% increase in stocks over the time period. What stands out, is the two share spikes over a single week.

What could have caused these sort of bursts to happen?

First off on Feb. 3rd GW announced a major stock transfer of over 5%, MFS Investment Management a holding company for Mutual Funds. Followed by GW deciding it was time to pay out a special Dividend. A second one just after the semi-annual report in January! Where GW is finding this extra cash is anyone's guess, but one thing is certain, Kirby's parachute looks like is picking up velocity. The dividend is interesting because any shareholder by March 20th can take a dip. I can only surmise this Dividend magically appeared to prop up the stock from MFS probable divestment. Either way, these sort of actions don't really make much long-term financial sense, unless you think rosy miniature gardens are just around the corner.

Let us see next month we can see just how well this Dividend pays.
