Watching stocks over the short-term is often an experiment in futility. On April 22nd 2015 we looked back at the state of Games Workshop's stock price and general financial health. In the last report, not much happen except for Ms. Kirby buying her own shares from the company.
While this report won't have any earth shattering news, it will though be a great marker as we just had GW's financial year-end!
By the next report this post will be a good maker to look back and see how well the stock fared before the financial year-end report.
If anyone can remember the 2014 report it was pretty horrific, but not as bad as everyone expected. So where does GW stand going into this 2015 report?
Here is GW stock year to year.
As you can see GW swelled during the summer months, but quickly crapped out by winter. It leaves GW a terrible 14% behind a similar date last year. How does GW look over the last 30 days or so and different?
Month to month shows GW treading water, with nothing exciting to report all we have is to wait for Financial year-end report.
What about that Financial year-end? Well it just concluded on May 31st, and if history is any indicator we might not see a report for up to 60 days! A dividend though should happen before the report becomes public, now if a dividend doesn't happen, we can might be looking at a super shitty report, and if that happens shareholders who don't know the difference between Space Marines and Eldar will jump ship.
To give you an idea of what I mean take a look at the top shareholders of GW.
| Shareholder | Number of shares | Percentage |
| Investec Asset Management Limited | 3,087,765 | 9.6 |
| Ruffer LLP | 2,492,260 | 7.8 |
| Tom Kirby | 2,134,094 | 6.7 |
| Massachusetts Financial Services Company | 2,044,385 | 6.4 |
| Phoenix Asset Management Partners Limited | 1,865,218 | 5.8 |
| Legal and General Group plc | 1,683,901 | 5.3 |
| Schroders plc | 1,677,861 | 5.2 |
| Aberforth Partners LLP | 1,636,300 | 5.1 |
| Artemis Investment Management LLP | 1,620,001 | 5.1 |
| FIL | 1,516,682 | 4.7 |
Those ten entities represent over 60% of GW! Only one of them has any actual working knowledge of GW business. The rest really only care about depositing money into their client pockets, not wondering if the new Eldar codex broke 40k.
Regardless, we should have some real financial Bolter fire shortly!
