Tits for Tournaments: Top ITC Tournament Lists February-March 2016

Warning

Tits for Tournaments is rated factually opinionated. Expect results, army lists, and some light bitching about boring spam lists to follow.

I am going to be working a little backwards here, as Blood of Kittens a few days ago announced the release of a new tournament event tracking page for the ITC.

To go along with the tracker release, Blood of Kittens will provide continued coverage of all the large ITC events in a monthly post showcasing all the top army lists we can find.

This particular post chronicles events up the end of March 2016. The ITC 2016 season started almost immediately after the lights turned off at the Las Vegas Open in early February.

February to March saw four GTs and the one major.

The first GT of the 2016 ITC season happened February 20th-21st all the way in Adelaide, South Australia at OmegaCon. It produced the following top three winners.

  1. Jeremy Martino 1st Overall Omegacon 2016
  2. Adam Napier 2nd Overall Omegacon 2016
  3. Ben Clarkes 3rd Overall Omegacon 2016

On February 27th we get a little closer to home with Huzzah Hobbies Hammer in the New Year event. With some familiar names as winners.

  1. Matt Schuchman 1st Overall Huzzah Hobbies’ Hammer in the New Year 2016
  2. Andrew Gonyo 2nd Overall Huzzah Hobbies’ Hammer in the New Year 2016
  3. Sean Barkley 3rd Overall Huzzah Hobbies’ Hammer in the New Year 2016

This brings us to March and three more events, with LANtasy 40K in Victoria, Canada on March 12th-13th. Here are the three winners from that event.

  1. Rupert Campbell 1st Overall Lantasy 2016
  2. Dan Wright 2nd Overall Lantasy 2016
  3. Joe Darbison 3rd Overall Lantasy 2016

The same weekend also some action in Conway, Arkansas at Mizewell Games for March Madness, with these three winners.

  1. Joshua Dearth 1st Overall March Madness 2016
  2. Andrew Ford 2nd Overall March Madness 2016
  3. Ben Drennan 3rd Overall March Madness 2016

Finally, March ended with the grand daddy Adepticon, which has already been covered ad nauseam, but for completion sake here is the top three.

  1. Aaron Aleong 1st Overall Adepticon 2016
  2. Brett Perkins 2nd Overall Adepticon 2016
  3. Nick Navavati 3rd Overall Adepticon 2016

Those are the top lists so far this season, next month though things quickly pick-up with at least three GT and two confirmed Major Events. I have a feeling a few more events will make the GT status, but will have to wait until next month to get all those juicy lists.

In the meantime, let us break down the lists above to see if we can find any trends. Of the 15 lists it appears no matter the format or rules Eldar dominate by taking 8 of the 15 lists and really nine if you count Harlequins. The rest of the armies are a hodgepodge. We shall see if Eldar continue its roll as April will have a majority of pure ITC FAQ events. It is interesting considering all the “free stuff” other armies get that Eldar still dictate the meta without having extra points.

Below is how the numbers breakdown so far by army, and future posts will add to the breakdown.

  • 8 Eldar
  • 2 Tau
  • 1 Harlequin
  • 1 Space Marine
  • 1 Dark Angel
  • 1 Daemon
  • 1 Tyranid

If you want to see lists broken down by army you can always check out the 7th Edition Top Army List Compendium, which will update at the same these posts go live.

See you again here next month as we get a ton of more events added to the ITC 2016 season!
