Awesome, although its a shame the gems aren’t a little brighter colours to really bring them out, although that may not be what you are looking for :p
The lighting effects are great though.
In my experience unless your painting skills are beyond amazing its hard to make gems look right without a final layer of gloss brushed on after all other effects (ie dull cote).
Sorrowshard’s skillz are pretty damn good though.
My gems look fine without gloss, but I do put some on afterwards , the reasons are twofold, it does indeed add depth and lustre to the stones, also as they also usually protrude it’s extra protection for those teeny tiny highlights, they can rub off quite easily.
Not bought any, will prob avoid doing so until I absolutely have to, apparently they are ‘close’ but IMO not close enough, If you go read the extensive Tale of Painters review (there is a banner link to the site) it’s about as comprehensive a review as you are likely to get.
I’m sad that badb is not as good now, fething amazing ink/wash, I’ll need to grab some asap …
Looks great bud…. nice job…!
The colours are so tasty. I want to eat them!

Awesome work man, do you have a list out of IA11 in mind?
Actually I have a kinda mashup of my trad mechdar plus IA11 units.
Eldrad
3 x 5 dragons in serpent
2 x 10 Avengers – exarch 2x catapult – bladestorm – waveserpent
1 x 5 Avengers
6 x Shadow Spectres, bells and whistles
2 x warphunters
Falcon – holo -Eml – cannon
For higher points games you can swap out the spectre Exarch for Irrilyth.
This is a rough list and will need tweaking depending on points level.
Please let me know what line/colors you used for those whites, and over what primer! It’s got the exact feel I want in wraithbone.
Start with Deneb stone as a base and keep adding white for successive highlights.
Very pretty 🙂
Hey, Sorrowshard. Have you been using Gloos Varnish on soulstones like on Trueborns helmets?

Any chance of a new paints review?
I bought some but have been too busy to actually try them so far.
