Legends of Mantica
Living Legends are the named characters of the Kings of War setting - mighty heroes, infamous villains and even a couple of Goblins! There are several of them included in the Force Lists in the Kings of Warhardback rulebook, but now they're getting some special attention in the new Kings and Legendssupplement, which is released at the end of this month. Each Living Legend (of which the book contains 22) gets a full backstory, telling how they fit into the world of Mantica; this is the largest collection of background information outside the hardback rulebook, so it adds a considerable amount to the Kings of War backstory. There's a mix of new characters and existing ones; the ones from the rulebook not only get a bit of story, they also get some additional army rules. For example, take Mhorgoth the Faceless, as seen above. (He's got a double-page spread because he's rather an important character - he's on the cover, after all!) He can upgrade units in the army to bear one of his Rings of Darkness, giving them theRegenerate special rule. When you think of some of the units in the Undead army, there's some real nasty potential there. Rules like this let you tweak your army to give it a bit more character, meaning your Living Legends are more than just a single model on the table!
Kings and Legends is available to advance order through our website (along with a load of Ogre andGoblin miniatures!), and is due to ship on 29th July. You also get a copy for FREE with our two Ogre Army Deals, the Granite Fists Company and Grokagamok's Vanguard.
DreadBall's back!
For a little while now, we've not had any copies of the full DreadBall game in stock - it's so popular, we're struggling to keep it in print! You probably will have noticed that only the Kick-Off edition has been available in your local gaming shops. Well, we've now got it back in stock, and it's got a shiny new box! The full game is now called DreadBall Deluxe, to make it stand out from the Kick-Off edition. If you're not sure what the difference is, here's a quick rundown!
If you're just getting into DreadBall, you might want to check out the DreadBall Academy series over at Beasts of War - it's a great way to pick up the basics, and it stars Mantic's very own Community Manager, James! |
