The Last Charge of Brettonia

I love history. I am also a lover of historical epic high fantasy in many different forms. Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Game of Thrones, Warhammer Fantasy (obviously), Elder Scrolls, Warcraft and Diablo to name a few of the big hitters. To me medieval history and high fantasy meld together with the legands of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table. Take these legends and stories and add the dark tones of the warhammer world and you have Brettonia. I am guilty of always going "vaninilla" (humans, "goodies", protagonists, warrior or knight class) but when vanilla is this tasty.

What is more iconic to history, fantasy, legends or heroic archetypes than a chivalrous and honour bound knight charging across the battlefield lance and shield braced for combat to righteously slay the foe. Whether it be to protect the defenseless of the land from horde of savages, remain loyal to your liege lord during a civil war or even saving that princess from that stalker dragon. They live by their principles, duty, code, vows, and honour especially during warfare or combat even in the face of overwhelming numbers, unspeakable monsters or super natural powers. They are decked out from head to toe in plate armour to be seemingly impregnable. So much so that it can created an air of mystery about the men who wear the armour and do such deeds. This mystery only somewhat answer or possible furthered by their heraldry, motos, sigils, icons and colours  representing their home, heritage and possible characteristics.

This Army contains:

2 Lords
1 Battle Standard Bearer
24 Knights of the Realm
7 Pegasus Knights
20 Men at Arms
15 Bowman
1 Trebuchet with 4 crew

This army was my first army and I still like the variety of colour and heraldry as well as Brettonia but my hobby is getting stream lined and changed so I have decided to sell my Brettonian army but before I put it on ebay I thought I would share this army of mine.

These six knights are some of the old heraldry of the old Bret knights and some basic conversions to provide a lot of diversity.

Basically Rhaegar Targaryen

Great model

I like the idea of these pegusus belonging to the king and he would entrust them during times of war to a handful of selected and proven knights and would be happy to represent their king on the battle field. They are all very different from the other Pegasus knights and mounted knights of the realm with conversions making up a few of their helms. Only six pictured here but I am selling seven all painted.

I like the rabble of untrained men bunching together to aid their knightly protectors and defend their homes. Always remind me of the Rohan men in the battle of helms deeps.

This is basically Robin hood and his merry men, complete with a Friar Tuck musician.

Who does not love trebuchets after watching them in films like Kingdom of Heaven or Lord of the Rings - Return of the King.

Just a badass Lord with a bad ass axe doing his thang!
