Hey everyone John here with a quick old catch up. It's been quiet for about a month on the blog which really couldn't be helped. The weather in Ottawa has been hitting close to 40 with the humidity, which for me is just way too warm to paint or blog or even live in. But the temperature is fading so I hope the heat wave is nearing a end. Either way I have been busy and have plenty to blog about in the near future.

So what have I been doing for the last month? First of I got a new job! Working for a local brewery in the area and it's pretty much my dream job. I'm mostly working retail, but also get to play in the brewery every once and a while doing canning/labelling etc. So far it's been a great experience, working within a small close knit team which is job focused and hugely enjoyable getting paid to talk and drink beer. I'm also finding it hugely motivating, getting to work with people who have a real passion for their job as opposed to the part time workers or students, that you normally find in the hospitality industry who are just clocking in hours to get some cash. I will blog about this new adventure soon.

Travel wise I've been able to visit Montreal twice this month and enjoy their brewing scene (expect a post on that soon). It's been great to experience this side of Canada even though it's only 3ish hours away it has a completely different feel and vibe about it. Definitely a place to visit more often and I look forward to going again real soon when some of my UK friends visit next month.

Then of course there is hobby sections.

  • On the comic front I've finished reading Batman Earth One, Superman Earth One, Teen Titans Earth One, Prometheus and have just started Dredd vs Predator vs Aliens; so lots of posts incoming soon.
  • Book front I'm starting over with the Gaunt's Ghosts series by Dan Abnett and attempting the Chronicles of Shannara, so you'll be getting up dates on them too soon.
  • Sector 102's crime wave continues to grow as I've made more terrain and picked up a few more minis to paint.
  • Iyanden Eldar have received some reinforcements in the form of more waveserpents and wraithguard. I'm also pleased to hear that the Iyanden Supplement can still be used along with a new eldar FAQ and eldar themed boxsets. The path the war is calling the dead to stir.

So really that's it for now. The temperature today is pretty cool, so I am going to attempt some blogging and get somethings queued to tie me over for the week. Thanks for reading as always and I hope your summers are going well.
