I spent Saturday of this week at the ExCel centre in London at the Salute show where I spent both an enjoyable few hours...and too much money...Here's an overview of the event primarily in photo form...many photos in fact so you might have to be a bit patient with loading times...

Demo and Presentation Tables
Pretty much every company that had a game as part of their product range was either demonstrating said game to any-one they could grab hold of or at the very least had a display table showing off their wares. Unfortunately with the myriad of companies at the event I undoubtedly missed several wonderful tables and to be honest I didn't bother taking pictures of displays that are the same at every event...
Here they are in no particular order...

A few of the stands had some interesting effects that can't really be shown with a picture alone so here's a couple of videos...

Of course certain things inevitably caught my interest specifically. Some of those things will appear as unboxings and reviews in the near future in between the long awaited most recent batch of Malifaux reviews of course...

The makers of Wild West Exodus recently passed their creation onto some new owners and as with all such situations this made some fans of the game a bit nervous. It seems however that there was nothing to worry about...pretty new models are being released, the rules are being updated with plenty of community involvement and if the guys and gals on the stand were anything to go by there's still plenty of enthusiasm to go around. An unboxing and review of the two-player starter set will appear at some point in the next few weeks but until then here's a look at their stand at Salute 2017...

The Drowned Earth
Currently a week or so into their Kickstarter the people from 'The Drowned Earth' were busy running demos of their game on some very nicely presented tables, showing off early drafts of the rulebook, examples of the minis and artwork samples. The game itself has some interesting tactical touches and a very well thought out reaction mechanic that added significant tactical depth judging from the demonstration games I observed while there...

White Dragon Miniatures are currently finishing off dispatching the pledges from their recent Kickstarter and as well as showing off those miniatures were also chatting about an upcoming 15mm scale game featuring their many amazing 'mech' models and accompanying infantry. The detail is incredible for the small scale even on the infantry models. I'm afraid my pictures don't really do them justice but here they are anyway...

With my potentially starting playing two new skirmish games in the near future it seemed like looking at some scenery would be a good idea. As usual Sarissa Precision had a great selection to choose from...

This was one of the stands that caught my eye while wandering around rather than one I'd intended on visiting beforehand. If you're looking for a centrepiece for a fantasy army of some description *cough* Age of Sigmar *cough* then they have some amazing pieces to choose from...

I could go on but as this feature is already a hundred or so pictures strong I'll stop there for a bit. For those of you wandering why I've missed out one of my current favourite game (Word Forge Games's 'The Devils Run') then the reason is that I'll be doing unboxings and reviews on some of their new products over the next few weeks so they'll be covered in detail then. Several other games systems and manufacturers will also be getting specific features of their own...

Here's my pile of purchases from the show if you'd like a clue about which stuff will be getting articles...

Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.
