Now that the Vostroyans are OOP, the mainstay of GW's Imperial Guard are the Cadian models.
All very good and hard sci-fi but lacking in the weirdness and richness of the 40K universe covered in the novels and so on.
That's one of the reasons I like the Ventrillian conversions. Feathered helmets and swords for future grunt Infantry.
With a few of the new plastics left over and armed with two boxes of Pistoliers from the Warhammer World store, I will start a new Ventri.lian force. My first iteration will likely go to the second hand market.
These models have the backpacks and scabbard swords from the Les Grognards models from Wargames Atlantic.
