Forgefather Vulkan He'stan
Vulkan He'stan, Forgefather of The Salamanders is the chosen of his Chapter and carries three of its most sacred relics: the Spear of Vulkan, a blade that burns so brightly as to set even ceramite ablaze, Kesare’s Mantle, a legendary drakescale cloak, and the Gauntlet of the Forge, whose molten rage none can endure
So its been a while since i last posted, and quite a while since I finished this model. This model is so detailed, and one of the metal ones too! So this is roughly and hopefully how i did it, however you’ll all find your own way to do the main part, the Green, i didn’t find i did this colour justice to what the legion’s colour actually is.
Green
Dark Angels green over the whole model
Snot Green, Leaving the recesses.
Thraka Green
Drybrush Snot Green, again leaving the recesses.
Goblin Green Highlight.
So you see this ended up quite a dark model, not quite what i intended. Maybe use a Foundation green like Gretchin green and then build it up using mixes of Camo green and Snot green, just to give it that lightness, but everyone is different.
Scales
Hormaguant Purple Foundation paint
Liche Purple
Liche Purple and Skull white mix, 1:1
Fire on Cloak
Chaos Black the whole lot
Blood red or something more flame like
Blazing orange
Golden yellow
Sunburst Yellow
Remember that when doing this method each paint has to end looking like flames, so with a point but so the flames look alive on his cloak.
Icon Flames
Skull white base
Blood red leaving recesses white
Blazing orange leaving small amounts of red
Golden Yellow leaving more orange than red
Sunburst yellow to highlight
The spear end is done in the same way as these two methods above.
Gold trim and Decoration
Tin Bitz or Shining gold, i prefer Shining gold
Greyphonne Sepia
Drybrush Burnished gold
Highlight chainmail, using barely any paint on the brush
