I decided that the finish of my Tyranid titan should be celebrated twice on here, as it is also the first titan to be owned, built, painted, and posted on the blog.
Therefore, this first post is to show pictures of my titan, and how I painted it, then I will do a second post with more pictures of it, talking about its stats in apocalypse.
This is my Tyranid Barbed Hierodule, she costs £90 from forgeworld, which is fairly cheap in comparison with other titans, though a little smaller than most too.
The skin is a half and half mix of liche purple and skull white, the carapace is a thin coat of scab red followed by 2 thin coats of blood red, the eyes are multiple layers of sunburst yellow, and the muscles and exposed flesh is warlock purple.
The base is graveyard earth with codex grey used on the rocks.
The claws, started with a layer of necron abyss.
The tubes connecting to the biocannons were coated with goblin green, aswell as the end of the barrel of the guns.
The teeth were a simple few coats of skull white.
The whole model was then washed in the appropriate gaps with badab black, and once this had dried I drybrushed the claws with a mix of 2 thirds ultramarines blue and 1 third skull white.
The rocks on the base were drybrushed with 3 quarters codex grey, 1 quarter skull white.
Then the highlighing stage consisted of using this same mix to highlight the edges of the claws, and a blood red highlight was used on the peaks of the carapace.
