This weekend alone, I finished 2 warriors (3 to go) and a Venom (4 to go) as well as a couple of jetbikers (4 to go)... those are the last few bits though and the Venoms funnily enough are quite quick to paint. I'll sort some pics out at some point and maybe try and do a day by day account of how I am getting on!
Now, there were a few issues originally when myself and a bunch of our local club mates decided to pile along to this. Several of us grabbed tickets but then the unthinkable happened... GW oversold tickets and had to put on an additional weekend. Whilst my ticket and a few other mates tickets were fine, a few missed out on tickets. So we switched event, from Event 1 to Event 2. GW were happy to sort this and we got new tickets, sent our old tickets back in and then got confirmation that we had our places (along with some pdf's of where to stay). Great!
Then... last week, one of my mates contacted GW to doubly make sure he was confirmed a place... they still had him down for Event 1... 11 emails later and a photo of his Event 2 ticket and they confirmed his place in the right event... Sat at home staring at the "confirmation of place" email, I thought I'd phone them anyway just for piece-of-mind... They didn't have me down for either event...
I explained everything to them, even to the point of emailing them my "confirmation of place" email that they themselves sent me to confirm my ticket and place... No word as yet, except the guy on the phone who claimed I'd be able to come along and play... I certainly better, as I've already paid for my accommodation, taken a day off work and am working like a bandit to get my army painted...
Chased them again first thing this morning and have been promised a swift response by close of play today... of course... having taken my money, given me a ticket and responded that said confirmation was accepted... how this needs to take any time at all I have no idea...
GW... couldn't organize a piss up in Bugmans...
