Second guest post today comes from Codicier Ignatius over at 4th Company Librarium.
Badab Characters 101: The Lamenters.

"The Lamenters are the only chapter involved in the Badab War that doesn’t use Codex: Space Marines; they are a Blood Angels successor and thus use their codex. They are a fleet-based Chapter on the side of the secessionists, and their role in the war was mainly to raid Imperial shipping. Like all of the Sons of Sanguinius, the Lamenters prefer shock assault tactics, though their history means that they have relatively few of the rarer artifacts, such as Glaives Encarmine, Angelus Bolters, Land Raiders, and Baal Predators.

The Lamenters’ character is one of nobility and honor, mixed with cynicism and despair because their most honorable actions always backfire on the Chapter. Despite this, they continue to act with honor, despite their dwindling numbers and seemingly endless bad luck.

Malakim Phoros

Malakim Phoros is the Chapter Master of the Lamenters. He has the statline of a standard Chapter Master, but he picks up an extra attack, and he carries the fairly standard armament of a Glaive Encarmine and an infernus pistol (named Catechist).

Phoros is mainly an assault character, and doesn’t do much to support the army as a whole. He makes the squad he joins Fearless, and any enemy squad losing an assault to him must re-roll successful Morale tests for falling back. This could be handy, as, at the very least, it will allow you to force more No Retreat wounds on enemy marines. Finally, he gets an extra point of strength and an extra attack once he takes a wound, though he and any unit he joins are then subject to Rage. "

I have to say this series is becoming a very popularly viewed part of the blog. And I'm glad to see and hear that people are enjoying them.
