So for the time you read this, you either have one of these siting on your desk, or know what's inside and decided if you try it or pass it. But for those few who are thinking about getting one, here's my experience whit the Northern Wastes kit.
Snow bases are something I never done before, so this was a good excuse to try my hands with it.
In steps my underwhelming eldar guardians. Painted in the quicker the better way, they are more stylish than detailed, but they get the job done.

Now let's try the basing kit, to see what can we get.

Still not the best looking eldar the internet has seen, but for a quick tundra look it's passable.

Now let's look at what the kit gives us. 1 pack of snow, 1 pack of tuft (the mordheim kind), icicles, a sheet of plastic, that can be used as ice, and rocks.

And here we see the first problem, if we see how much the things cost us. If we buy a box of snow (£5.10) and a box of mordheim tuft (£8.00) and look for pebbles on the side of the road, because that was my first impression as I opened the thing up, we can come out cheaper. While the boxes hold the double of what you get in the kit (snow and tuft).

While the sheet of ice, and the icicles are nice, they won't be used by me. For a simple reason, while the picture on the box is nice, icicles just don't work that way, they don't grow out of the ground, at least not on those places where there's still some grass under the snow, like the ones I'm going for. So while these will come handy when I make frozen vehicles and such, I can only use the smaller ones on the bases, to hang off the rocks.

If you ask me, I wouldn't recommend this for those people who just wants snow on the bases, you can get most of this stuff for cheaper, and in bigger quantity, or can find it for free. And if you look around the net, you can find some clever icicle tutorials.

For a final closing I would give this a 6/10. While it can come handy, and gives us everything we would need for a good ice world or tundra world theme. for the same price we can get more of the things we would need (especially for the tundra). Only buy this if you will use everything from the box.

Now for obvious reasons I won't be writing about the other kits. But if you have tried them, or have written a review, drop a link below, or tell us about your experience whit the other kits.
