Brian's WoC

Game 1 I played Brian Forrester the Event organiser and Club chairman of the DWARF club. He was kind enough to grudge me and ease me into my first game in a tournament. The main events were the mournfang killing the chariot and marauders on the left flank while the ironblaster killed the hellcannon turn 2 and his disc sorcerer later in the game. His main warrior unit (deathstar lol) killed and wiped out my ironguts winning the game. His warshrines were excellent and buffed his main unit with 4+ ward, stubborn and +1 attack, giving the average front line trooper 5 attacks each. It was a great game and Brian was an absolute gent who won 14-6 (my only tournament points all day lol!!). I really liked Brian's army which was also painted using snow basing and his unit filler in the marauders was great :)

Game 2 I played Dave Taylor, another DWARFer who is the club treasurer who was brilliant opponent with a beautiful beastman army, unfortunately I only have the above picture but his basing was great with little tufts of heather and the forge world Skin Wolves used as Razorgors. This added a really nice touch to his army and the model he used for transformation of Kadon was great. This was the diagonal deployment game and my BSB and one unit of bulls didnt turn up while 2 of daves razorgors and one of his Shaman also did not turn up. My BSB didnt turn up til the last turn which was a bit of a kicker but in reality it would not have saved me. Dave played a great game and his Mountain Chimera (Transformed Shaman) tore apart my mournfang in one turn and then mopped up my left flank. I managed to severely deplete his main gor unit but didnt quite kill it before he wiped me out. I lost this game 0-20 which was a shame but in the end Dave out played me :)

Game 3 I played Mike Callaghan's dwarfs, I really liked his simple colour scheme which looked very regal in his purple clothing. This battle was blood and glory and it started great for me moving up and passing a ridiculous number of Ironcurse Icon saves on my Irongut unit and he even blew up his cannon turn 1. His Gyro copters were a nightmare 1 even broke and ran down the mournfang towards the end of the game. I refused a charge when it was forced on my by his rune of challenge. I think this was one of the contributing factors to me losing this game and I should have taken it with my bulls. There was a horrendously bloody multi combat in the middle of his deployment zone resulting in mike winning. I really should have put more attacks into his BSB but I was a bit daft and he killed my characters and broke my stead fast netting mike a 20 nil win!

I had a great time at the tournament as I said in a previous post and really could not recommend it more! My best painted certificate is proudly displayed on my study wall, much to the annoyance/shame of my girl friend! I have just written my army list for the next DWARF tournament which I hope to attend in the summer, you can ready about the list here:
