Geek greetings and salutations… ahem.  That was weird.  Anyway my name is, my name is, my name is … Joe Finlayson, that sounded a lot cooler in my head hearing Slim Shady lay it down.  I seriously can't believe you used that reference...  I’m the newest edition to the White-Scars Army blog and I’m super excited to be working with the community on the red-headed step child chapter of Warhammer 40k (seriously our first Horus Heresy novel is 112 damn pages?)  Good thing I didn't buy one....

My 40k experience began with the release of 5thedition.  I’ve been a Fantasy player for a number of years prior.  Fantasy was always my preferred game and still is, but in the dregs of the gaming world that is Northern California, we have a total of 8 local players.  Thus I leapt into 40k if only to get a game in each time I went to the local game store.  I found I actually really enjoyed this side of GW and I quickly built a fledgling Daemonhunter force.   I grew bored of fielding 12 models and getting tabled until I stumbled upon this blog. I immediately swapped forces began carving tribal scars on my bikes and yelling for the Khan at neighbors, dogs defecating in my yard, and at my dice as they fell to the table.  What about when your baby cries?

I didn’t attend any tournaments until the summer before 6thedition.  But both were successful ventures! Remember I am from a small town and when big events happen I tend to travel with my fantasy army (since its actually painted to a competitive standard and I’m rather successful in that medium).  But my first 12 man tournament saw the White Scars take first, two weeks later I placed 2nd in a 15 man tournament.  One month later was our equivalent of a GT (32 people) and the first 6th edition tournament saw the sons of Khan place 3rd after a depressing loss to a poor opponent in the final round.  Tournaments do become addicting... just saying

I do not pretend to be on par with the standard player on this blog, but I do enjoy reading most of the blogs and delve into theory crafting with Stillfrosty most evenings.  You left out an important detail... how you send me 3098089435 lists to look at...  Well I suppose that about wraps up this introduction.  I look forward to future correspondence and as always… FOR THE KHANNN!!!!

Nice to have you aboard Joe!  --Frosty
