Yesterday I was able to complete my second model of the year, and the third model in the Khador Battlegroup to finish it off.  Here is Kommander Sorscha Kratikoff:

She took three sessions to complete, although all I got done on the first night was to prime her and get her base coat of red down.

Most of the colours used are the same as with the Destroyer and Juggernaut: Skorne Red, Thamar Black, Pig Iron and Glorious Gold, with washes of Devlan Mud, Baal Red and Badab Black.

However, being a human and not a ‘jack, especially a ‘caster, she needed some other colours.  So I also used Midlund Flesh and Ryn Flesh on her face with a Gryphonne Sepia wash; Cryx Bane Base on her gloves, hat and fur lining; Bastion Grey on her leggings and as a drybrush on the Cryx Bane Base areas; Bloodstone on the insides of her cape/skirt; and Bloodtracker Brown for her hand cannon.

I was in such a good painting mood, and have enough time these days, that I probably could have had her done in two sessions.  But I want to get to bed before 1am these days, so I left the last few stages (metals, cleanup and washes) for yesterday.

Now that the whole Battlegroup is done, I think they look fantastic together.  I’ll post a ‘showcase’ group shot in a couple of days.  I just need to do some touch-ups I found when taking pictures.  I’m really happy with how they turned out, and having them all done really does inspire me to both paint more models, and even buy some more Khador to grow my force.  However, I will only buy more Warmachine models if we actually get this game played a bit more.  As much as I love (too many) WarmaHordes models, I need to keep my new model purchases to a low right now.

As for painting, I actually have a surprising amount of hobby time right now, considering we’ve got both a two-week old and a year-and-a-half old.  The little one is helping me by tiring my wife out enough to have her be in bed by 9 or 10, which leaves me a few hours to build, paint and watch youtube.  Thanks son!

Well, that’s all for now.  Next up are Ogres and some objective markers.  I’ll probably put up a Workbench Update post soon, too, as it’s been a while since I’ve logged that.  But if I keep painting models in 2-3 nights, the update will be quickly be inaccurate! Heh, who would have thought painting more would be a problem.

Thanks for reading.
