"How much more money do you have to spend on your army?" my girlfriend asked one weekend while we were clearing out the cupboards.
"Oh, not much more" I blagged.
Truth be told, I had no frickin' idea. And that's slightly concerning when you're girlfriend is moving in in a few months...
So I felt that now would be a good idea to write out everything I want for my Eldar army and to see how many carry cases I could cram it all in.
And that's before a new Codex and lots of new units come out of course...

Kaiser 2 Carry Cases
So far I've managed to get 3 Wave Serpents, 3 Vypers, 3 War Walkers, 20 Dire Avengers, 12 Fire Dragons, 10 Striking Scorpions, 10 Howling Banshees, 10 Harlequins, 10 Rangers, 2 Farseers, 8 Warlocks, Autarch, Eldrad and Maugan Ra in a Kaiser 2 KR Multicase with room left for a Wraithlord.
I have to find room for 10 Dark Reapers and 10 Swooping Hawks.
I still have to acquire Fuegan, Yriel, Wraithlord, Falcon, Fire Prism and 3 Support Weapons.
Meanwhile I'm sitting on the fence when it comes to Jetbikes, Jetbike Seer Council, Warp Spiders and Wraith Guard due to the rumours that they will all be getting new plastic models.
So I could get another Kaiser 2 carry case and use one of of the two boxes inside to hold the Falcon, Fire Prism, 3 Support weapons, 10 Dark Reapers and 10 Swooping Hawks. Meanwhile the Wraith Lord will fit in the first Kaiser 2 case.
That would leave me with one box for all the 20 Jetbikes, 10 Jet Council, 10 Warp Spiders and 10 Wraith Guard which may get new models in the future.
I've just worked out all the KR Multicase trays and it's looking pretty good. So that's a relief, until Games Workshop release more new Eldar units...
So What New Models Are Rumoured?
These models were rumoured quite a while ago, but only time will tell if these come true.
Plastic Warp Spiders/Something Else kit
Plastic Wraith Guard/Something Else kit
Fine Cast Black Warden (some kind of Guardian champion)
Plastic Eldar Aircraft Kit
Plastic Jetbikes
Plastic Jet Council/Shining Spears Kit
New Fine Cast Eldar Avatar (I may just buy the Forgeworld one)
Plastic Eldar Warp Gate (fortification?)
"How Much More Money Do You Have to Spend On Your Army?"
Well, for now it's Fuegan, Yriel, Wraithlord, Falcon, Fire Prism, 3 Support Weapons and 2 Wave Serpents, which comes to £213.75, plus another Kaiser 2 carry case, which is £92 (including postage) for a total of £306.75.
In the future (when Eldar get a new release), I'll be able to fill the 2nd box in the 2nd Kaiser 2 carry case with the 20 Jetbikes, 10 Jet Council, 10 Warp Spiders and 10 Wraith Guard which may get new models.
Then I'll need a Kaiser 1 carry case for the remaining 20 mystery models, 2 aircraft and the Avatar. The Warp Gate can be neatly packed in a padded box with the rest of my scenery. Although if there even more new Eldar units, I'd probably just have to get yet another Kaiser 2 to fit all of those in.
But thankfully that's years away! So I can spread this over the next 2 to 3 years. So when you consider how much my girlfriend spends on shoes, £300 a year on little plastic dudes doesn't seem so bad. Does it?
Even so, I am SO GLAD that 40K is the only tabletop wargame that I play.
