The 2nd annual Indy Open is complete and I am proud to announce the results below.
I want to thank first of all the players that traveled from all over the country to join us in the midwest cornfields of Indiana.
I want to especially thank the staff that volunteered all their time to help run this event. It takes a lot of hours to make the kind of terrain we did this year as well as coordinate all the logistics. Thanks to Jason, Justin, Johnny, Chad, Todd, John L., Steve, Garrett, Keith, Greg, and John B. Couldn't have done it without you.
I heard numerous compliments such as:
"being the best tournament I have ever been to", or "the terrain was perfect and so balanced that it didn't matter what side of the table I was on", to "I loved the art paper idea. You don't have to worry about the terrain being moved because you traced where each piece is supposed to go", to "the terrain was beautiful and just the right size, not too big, with enough line of sight blocking, etc", to "we cannot wait to come back next year", and "I loved the dice idea".
I am sure there are things we need to improve on and I hope you all fill out the survey I will be sending out to you. We want to listen to your voices and make a great gaming experience for all to enjoy.
I look forward to hopefully seeing you on the battlefield at Adepticon and Nova Open. I thank Matthias Weeks and Mike Brandt for helping us with our event and giving us a great vision of what a gaming convention should look like.
