Well part one was the assembly. Part two is the fit and setup.  The handsome fella in the kart is me.  As I thought, the gas pedal needed adjusting due that bum right ankle joint.  It sucks getting old sometimes.
We don't have the four wheel scale devices and overall weight scale that some of the big race teams have.  So what we do is get out four bathroom scales.  If we balanced everthing on the scale right, this set up should weigh about 20 pounds less than last years kart.  Which means we are going to need to cast some lead weights before the season.  Add that to the list of stuff to get done.

Hard to tell at this angle, but I'm really laying down in the seat, compared to last year.  My shoulders are about 4 inches lower, and my butt is 1/2 inch off the ground.
Here is a good ground level shot.  I'm mocking up the fairing that is going on the steering shaft.  This seat position really makes it tough to see over the nose, that will take some getting use to.
So we put the kart on the scales.  Just as we thought everything was going good, we found that we don't have enough adjustment in the front end with the new spindles.  So we took my old spindles and put them on.  Better, but still not enough.  So we changed the stagger of the tires in the front and rear,  that worked okay, but we maxed out the adjustments in the front end.  So after four and half hours of adjusting, my dad decided he would make new spindles.  So add some more to the not done list.  He is going to drive my kart in the first open practice on April 19th while I'm at Adepticon playing in the big game.

Time is running out, more work to do tomorrow.
