So if you have read this blog before you probably know I can get a bit rantish with gw.  Now this does come at a cost.  This blog has been black listed by organizations that have a vested interest in promoting gw and their game. I understand this as keeping their attendance happy is vital to them and the growth of their companies.  No problem here with that.  I believe in freedom enough to know that sometimes the end result can be bad, but atleast I had the choice to make. So I read 50 or so blogs a day that are all miniature based and the majority is 40k related content. More and more the masses have spoken how they feel gw is exploiting the hobbyist.  We love the idea of the 40k world, we for the most part do like the actual game mechanics, but policies for vendors, online sales, etc are not what we think we should have.  Take the newest release.   Tau.  Long awaited , long overdue and the buzz on the Internet has been deafning.  Gw, the self proclaimed model company that also makes rules runs out of fucking models????   Couple that with prices that go up each release than the entire line goes up every year.  A blog I read said that he was thinking of a tau list that had 3 rip tides and 3 of the fliers.  This was to be a competitive list. Most people now are 40k competitive. So 6 models. That is over 500 dollars. Now add in the horde units of kroot etc. That is a lot of money period. This entire thing reminds me of the housing market here in America. The prices every year , heck every month went up. Until guess what , people stopped paying and found out they could no longer afford it. The bubble popped and the entire thing shit out. I do like the game , I don't want it to end , but this escalation will prove to be its ultimate down fall.

So what do I mean, what will you do?  It can mean what will you do when your left with thousands of dollars in models with a out of business company. It might mean will you continue to pay crazy dumb prices for each model.  Will you take your money's else where?  These are just some thoughts, but when do the masses stand up and say no this is too much or are we just frogs in a pot of water that is rising to a slow boil and don't even realize it.
