I painted in the same way as GW describes how to paint a Fire Dragon in White Dwarf 388, the Guardian is mounted on a Micro Arts studios jungle base I have painted every "bulb" on the armour as a gem, I like the idea that Eldar armour are covered with gems. I read in the book Harelquin form 1995 by Ian Watson, when a Imperial assassin morphs herself into an Eldar and he describes her armour as covered with gemstones. So my Eldar's armour are covered with gemstones, sure it will take a bit longer to paint but its worth it I think in the end.
