The Cutest Damn Little Painter On The Planet

Sunday; the last day of Adepticon. It's been a fun few days, and the fun didn't stop there. Sunday was full of its own adventures and was also the first day in a while that I could sleep past whatever hangover had planned on plaguing me. But alas, this was the last day and I was sad to see it go. More after the jump.

10:30 AM - My first class is at noon, and so 10:30am seemed like a good time to wake up so I didn't have to rush.

11:00 AM - This is the point where I realize my class is actually at 11:30am (unlike my class yesterday that was at noon).

11:02 AM - Drive like hell.

11:45 AM - Arrive at Adepticon and run like hell. Also, curse at the elevators.

11:50 AM - 20mins late, I had arrived at Sculpting Faces with Victoria Lamb:
This might have been my favorite class. Not that the rest of the classes weren't great in their own right, but in this class I saw the most and quickest progress than any other. This is my work:
Two On The Left Started As Press Molds

Starting out, Victoria more or less told us we'd be awful, but that we'd get better surprisingly fast. Lo and behold; she was exactly right. My first face looked like a Picasso painting from his years as a toddler and by my third face (not including the press molds) I started getting pretty good!

1:30 PM - Class is over and the Crystal Brush awards are about to begin!

1:50 PM - Crystal Brush awards are about to be handed out. Here's a few of my favorites:
And probably my favorite overall:
There were plenty of awards to give out:
And here's one for Mister Justin for his Marder III:
I took pictures of everyone receiving their awards, but unfortunately I was smart enough to make note of everyone's names and so I have a bunch of smiling, award-accepting, nameless faces on my camera. Either way; cheers to them! If you want to see all of the winner's work, check out Drkmorals post here.

2:15 PM - Crystal Brush awards are all given out and it's time for me to get my nicotine fix and socialize a bit/say goodbyes.

3:30 PM - Consume an overpriced chicken sandwich from the restaurant attached to the convention.

4:30 PM - Awards are given out in the main hall for all of the tournament players and...there was a lot of them. I overheard there was around 5,000 people at Adepticon and a full fifth of them were playing in some sort of tournament; awesome. There were raffle giveaways after the awards were given out with some great prizes including two Badger airbrush/compressor kits, army bags, starter kits, paints, board games, models and this army that went to a very happy winner:

5:30 PM - And that was it...Adepticon was over. I said a few more goodbyes and jumped in the car:
*sniffle*

The rest of the night panned out with a movie, booze, more UNO (still undefeated in the Chicago area) and a warm bed. To finish out this series, I'll leave you with a bunch of random pictures I took of armies, display boards, display cases and one shot of me at the Bean with a giant floppy hat on:
