The GCPS is colonizing new worlds all the time. At first these new worlds are protected by armies of marines, tanks and battleships. But once the world is deemed safe they are left mostly to their own devices, there maybe a military base and a small force left behind but the huge bulk of the army will be heading off to help establish the next new colony or fight in a fearsome war zone.
The colony will then be protected by the CSF (Corporations Security Forces) who act as police and defense force. The men and women of the CSF are drafted from the colonists, given a shot gun, riot shield and a weeks worth of training before being sent back out among their fellow citizens to uphold the law. Normally the CSF will only have to deal with a few petty crimes or the odd riot. But it is also their duty to defend the colony should it come under attack from alien or rebel forces.
During an invasion the CSF is often little more than an irritation to the enemy as they have not had the training or experience to stand up to the horrors that lurk among the stars. But during the course of the campaign a few scattered units of CSF who managed to survive the initial attack can often be found standing together with Marines or even Enforces as they fight for there lives and the fate of a planet!

The home brew rules in this post have been heavily influenced by void 1.1, still available from Scotia Grendel!

There are a few new rules for the following units...
Riot Shields: At the end of an activation that a unit armed with riot shields did not charge or move at the double it gains a shielded marker. When shooting at a unit with a shielded token the attacker suffers a -1 to all "to hit" rolls, this is cumulative with cover, suppression etc. The Shielded Marker is removed at the start of the units next activation.
Chain Of Command (N): A unit with this rule can only be inspired by or inspire units with the same (N).
Cry Baby Gas: Cry baby gas causes no damage rolls when it hits. Instead roll a nerve check for the unit with a +1 modifier, treat a destroyed results as suppressed.
Pathfinder: Ignores the effects of difficult terrain while moving or moving at the double.

There are also a couple new weapons...
Suppression Shotgun: Fire: 1 Range: 12 Special: Blast (D3)
Cry Baby Launcher: Fire: 1 Range: 18 Special: Cry Baby Gas

CSF troopers made from some plastic void 1.1 junkers.

So with the special rules and weapons out the way lets take a look at the units...
CSF Troopers... Team (50 points) or Section (100 points) (INFANTRY)

Spd: 5
Hit: 4+
Att: 1
Def: 4+
Ner: 6/9

A team consists of one leader and four grunts all armed with suppression shotguns and riot shields.
A section consists of one leader and nine grunts all armed with suppression shotguns and riot shields.

Special rules: Chain Of Command (CSF).

This Junker from the Void 1.1 range makes for a great Sargent.

CSF Sargent... 35 points. (HERO)

Spd: 5
Hit: 3+
Att: 2
Def: 4+
Ner: 9/11

The Sargent is armed with a suppression shotgun, heavy laser pistol and riot shield.

Special rules: Chain Of Command (CSF), Inspiring, stealthy.

Another Void 1.1 model, this time from the VASA faction.

CSF Riot Buster... 120 points. (ARMOR)

Spd: 12
Hit: 4+
Att: -
Def: 8+
Ner: -/9

The Riot Buster is armed with a cry baby launcher (A) and a burst laser (F).

Special rules: Pathfinder, Chain Of Command (CSF), crushing strength (4)

So that is it for the forces of the CSF (for now). The idea of the troopers came to me when I saw a news clip on the T.V of riot police marching forward with there riot shields creating a wall infront of them as various unpleasant things where thrown at them by angry civilians. The mix of riot shield and short ranged but powerful shot gun give you a hard choice to make, do you advance slowly and make the most of the riot shield or charge forward to bring a hail of blast (D3) shots in range of the opponent.
The Sargent is included to give the CSF access to a cheap hero who can use his inspiring rule to help keep the troopers moving.
Fotage of water cannons being used to defuse riots made me want to include them in the CSF but giant water pistols didnt feel right for the war zones of WARPATH. So I came up with a different type of non-lethel weapon. Cry baby gas is just another name for tear gas but is used in the Riot Busters cannon to diffuse the worst riots or battle alien foes as needed.

If you enjoyed reading about the CSF why not try them out in your next game? I would love to hear any feedback you may have.

See ya.
