"I don't always post about models and conversions, but when I do it's on standardtemplaceconstruct.net"
As many of you don't know i have been on a blogging hiatus. One that has seen me temporarily close down my personal blog, The Chaos Manifesto. My disappearance from the community has gone unnoticed like the time I spilt a bag of skittles down my pants. No one wanted to taste the rainbow. Left longing for attention I have clawed my way out from the rock I was under. After several bootleg bottles of Dos Equis I have a hobby desk that is not only covered in my fescues but several hobby related projects.
Take a moment out of your mundane schedule and taste the rainbow that is the most interesting panda in the world of 40k. Amongst the corn nibblets and skittles one can see a plethora of rusted out space marines. Loyalist gone a stray or perhaps the taint of Nurgle himself. Either way these malevolent marines of days gone bye are no longer in the glow of the corpse emperor. Instead the Father of Decay has coddled and cosseted their current state of corruption. Like the stench of a babies diaper these Marines represent the Fallen Angels of Lion El'Jonson. Each one more disgusting and grotesque then the next. Each one a rotten snowflake.
Prior to finding there way into my intestine they were from a Dark Vengeance of days gone bye. By adding various zombie, forsaken, plague bearers and chaos warrior bitz I was able to distort their crispy clean image. Throwing in a few pieces of guitar string enabled me to amplify their Nurgle flavour. Last but not least I cut, gouged and filed away the sigils of their past life. These small changes have drastically changed the way they are perceived much like how the housewives of x-city are after they stuff themselves with Botox. My only regret is that my Fallen Angels of Decay fail in comparison to those whores in term of debauchery and ugliness.
I have been slowly chipping away at the test squads makeup, err, rather their paint scheme. As you can see I highlighted their decay with a heavily corroded armour. Dominating the bulk of the model I needed a way to pull the eye of the beholder away from the rusted armour. First the skin tone was selected and u think I nailed a foul green tone that those housewives would be green with envy. Wanting to help amplify the green but not steal its sunshine I used the colour red as a secondary accent colour. This creates a high contrast with the green while complimenting the orange rust. Last but not least I used a vibrant blue to contrast the orange rust. In the end I am left with a tetradic colour scheme. This provides me with a rich and vibrant colour scheme.
I have yet to solidify the bases for this army but I am focusing in on having a green ooze. I feel this would harmonize the tetradic colours scheme while providing a reasoning to their current state. For this I am looking at buying some Secret Weapon Minuature lava flow resin bases. The appearance if the lava would match that of the slime that flows from the prefixes of Papa Nurgle. The rocks would be painted akin to the surface of Mars.
With my cell count whittling away and your own attention fading I will cut my rambling short. I leave you with a question from one of earth's greatest actors of all time.
