New pilots and new co-pilots. Lets take a quick gander at the stuff that they say will be coming at the Lambda-class first.
First pilot they showed is Captain Kagi. At skill 8 and 27 points, hes a bit of the expensive, and his ability to force any and all Target Locks on him (if able) seems pretty powerful. Kind of.
Next lets see Colonel Jendon whose a skill 6 for 26 points. Still a bit on the pricey side for an ability I'm just not feeling. Seeming a bit like 'Dutch' Vander from the Rebels he gives anyone his Target Lock. Useful I'd say with a list consisting of the new Tie Bombers coming out, but outside that I just don't see it going all that well.
Maybe with some Tie Interceptors for a good old Focus Target Lock combo, but for 26 points and a huge target, just seems like you're better playing another small ship. Time will tell though.
But the final pilot they've shown is the one that caught my eye the most. Captain Yorr who's skill 4 for 24 points. His ability to absorb other ships stress tokens.
Holy crap in a hat! Instantly I thought of dirty dirty things I could do with him and a couple of Interceptors with Push the Limit. And hey, what do you know, Fantasy Flight even pointed that out themselves.
Needless to say, this is gonna be a tiny bit broken if done right. With two Interceptors getting a free actions on them is nasty. Focus with Evade for some added defense or Focus and boost/barrel roll to get out of their firing arc and blast them yourself? Focus and boost to get into range 1 for the extra dice. The possibilities are, well, limited yes but they're still nice! I expect to see this guy used a lot down the road.
And to round it out we have some new Co-pilots. First the Navigator, who is pretty powerful and you couple him with the Intelligence Agent. Outside that, both those guys come off as useless. So I guess couple them together every time you got them.
Also Darth Vader, OH MY GOD! Over reaction aside it's interesting to see him as a co-pilot, but as his ship is kinda meh at best now, this is pretty nice. Almost dead enemy ship, take a bit of damage to preform a crit on him. Situational at best it seems, but interesting non the less.
And to throw it in at the end, the Anti-pursuit laser! Makes bumping into enemy ships interesting if you can force them to over lap you. Free shots are free shots and if you can get them without even needing to actually shoot, not bad. And for 2 points its not bad. I wouldn't be surprised to see this on all the Large ships when this is released.
