Oh yea, this time we're talking about something I feel pretty strong about in my ways of hating it, and that is the Ship Upgrade Stealth Device.
For 3 points you can upgrade any ships agility by one, but once hit you lose it. Sounds good right, put it on a high agility ship and he'll be untouchable...right?
Well, I have yet to hear about it ever working. Most of the time you'll see it on a high priority target, which means it'll be focused.
First volley of shots on it (normally the literal first shot) will have just 1 hit go in and boom, we lost the device. Each and every time I've used it, its happened.
Each and every time a friend has used it, it happens. EACH AND EVERY TIME! Maybe we're just unlucky as all hell. But lets take a look at it, and think of some ways it could be a little better shall we?
How about an change in points? Perhaps if it wasn't 3, but maybe 2 or 1, it would be a bit more acceptable. I'd have no problem throwing a 1 point upgrade down on a ship to help it survive a little. And if it fails, least it only cost me a point.
Could possibly up the points cost and make it a permanent change. So if you get hit it stays. I'd be down for a full 5 points on that. Just my thoughts though.
But, another idea, and a complete over haul on the upgrade i thought of is this. Not sure points, but Instead of an extra agility, it would prevent anyone from shooting at you at long range. so no random pod shots. So like, can only be fired at range 2 and 1.
Or maybe switch it, can't be targeted at range 1. How nice would that be against Wedge or Han Solo?
This card feels like it could be something awesome, but just keeps falling short. Be very interesting to see some kind of change to it. But, doubt it. One can hope right?
