Did a massive amount of hobby last night, finished off and based 22 black orcs, based and tidied up 9 night goblins and basecoated and washed 10 more black orcs! The unit is really starting to come together and finishing 2250pts for WinterWar is feeling much more likely at the moment!

I touched up the Night Goblins as I really wasn't happy with the stark highlights, so using some purple wash I smoothed out the transitions and darkened up their cloaks. This is a neat little trick if you aren't very good at blending (me!) as it achieve a similar effect that from table top distance looks almost as good! I did the same thing with the flesh using a green wash. Really it is like using a glaze and can really help improve your painting :)

Also I got asked how much wash etc I use after a basecoat and the answer is: Bloody Tonnes! Right at the bottom is a picture of models just dried after a wash, note how much darker they are than the finished models. I love washes and used in this sort of way it can really speed up your painting by painting a light base coat, washing heavily and then highlight up.

Anyway tonight I am finishing off 10 more black orcs (the ones shown below).with an aim of doing further 18 by the end of the month. If I can achieve this then I will be on target to complete the army on time! As always please let me know what you think!
