20 Games. Thats what it takes to know the capabilities of an army list. No flippin, no floppin, but the hard work and dice rolling mayhem of winning and loosing to milk the most out of every point, FoC slot, weapon and model in an army. For anyone who is new to the blog, the 20 games series I do are a chronicle of games that are played with a specific core list in mind.
The principle is simple, set a theme, build a “core” list and then play it at least 20 times. You must not make drastic army list changes for at least 10 games, although small changes in wargear, unit compisition and other specialization may vary starting after the 5th game. You must also try and play against as many different opponents as possible, and against as many different types of armies as possible. This will give you a wide variety of possibilities and skill levels and will help you improve your skillset with said list until you become very comfortable with it.
With the Dark Eldar I have had 3 journeys so far. This will be my fourth.
The first was when the book just released in 5th ed. It was a baron based list.
The Second journey was at the onset of 6th ed. It was an archon + eldar allies based list.
The third, that just finished, was with Urien rackarth and his coven.
This time, it it time for Vect.
After consideration of a few ideas, and asking around on a variety of forums the Rise of Vect (or “how to loose friends at 40k”) was the army idea that seems to have gained most traction. This is not a “friendly” list. It is very fluffy, but it is definately something that opponents should have a hard time with. I am excited to try it.
The list:
Vect
*allied - Coteaz (this is the “soothsayer”, I will be converting and having a lot of background for this character)
