This topic keeps coming up as of recent trends of the Seer council and Screamer star making top tables at tournaments. A few posts back I spoke about the new king of the ring ( jet-seers ) and how frustrating it is to play against them even when the other player tries not to be a douche. Well now TO's are looking into "fixing" things to prevent 2+ saves from being re-rolled etc. I like the idea of not having an indestructible unit, but I do think it is wrong to mess with the game. This has the potential to be a rift in the community that will kill attendance and isolate 40k players further from other players. Most GT's have already gone to a 1999+1 format as they could not stand seeing a double force org in regular 40k as it would be "broken". Well look at the reality now! With mini-dex's and formations out we are one away on this from doubling force orgs under 2k. I say open the flood gates all the way please. You cannot weed out broken with subjective rules. All this leads me to the escalation book coming out and maybe the new nids on the horizon. With gargantuan and super heavies making it into regular games with access to D(estroyer) weapons so much for the 2+ re-rollable save. Even psychic powers ( good or bad) don't work on these guys preventing the stupid use of prescience on everything under the sun. All the haters just need to look at what we have now. Wraith knight is a great example. T8, S10 MC!!! This used to be apoc only type stats. All for under 300 points. A Lord of Skulls is 888 points and loaded out is 1000. That's 3 wraith knights and something else easy. Is the damage output the same? Better? Who knows as I have yet to even see one battle report using the new super heavy walker. Competitive players will try break anything and that is a fact. Around here when a new dex comes out all I hear is this combo and that combo for tabling your opponent on turn 2. It is fun to try and break into the next power level for 40k, but should you still play it under the guise of fun? Selective banning leads to selective playing as it is a subjective thing and what would happen if a large percentage of people at a GT refused to play certain lists? No one wins at all. Eventually no more GT's etc. So to all the TO's please be wary of moving things to be"fair". If you want fair go play chess. I hate some stuff too, but oh well I take my beatings for now and maybe later I have an army that is categorized as OP. Point is you ban this now and the WAAC player will find the next best thing and break that too. Will you just ban it all.
