As you have probably noted I have not yet produced any article yet on modelling or army building. There is a very good reason for this and it has nothing to do with me procrastinating, even though the title says so.
Actually, it does have to do with procrastination, or with the effects through the years. I have a bad, bad, bad habit. I tend to procrastinate and eventually loose interest in what I am doing and then something else captures my attention or imagination and I end up starting something new. The previous project gets shelved or scrapped.
I have mentioned this before and I have made resolutions to change my silly, unproductive ways. In fact, I was and have already begun to change the pattern. I had to stop in September to December because I entered the Hobbylink TV modelling competition which took up all my spare time.
That has passed now, so I took the opportunity to take my study apart and do a small census on what I have stocked up in my hobby cupboard. I found so much stuff packed up in boxes that I have completely forgotten about, including some half-done or half-started kits. No mother Hubbard syndrome here!
One kit that surprised me was an old AT-AT Star Was kit from MPC. I did not even know I had this kit, and I can't even remember where I got it from or if anyone gave it to me? It is a little beauty and my first reaction was to start gluing it all together - I know I'm impossible - but I resisted. I packed it all up and put it away.
So, to cut a long story short, I went through everything and sorted everything out. I made a list of the things I will have to do first in order to catch up with my back log. The rest of the projects I want to do, will have to wait - including that cool AT- AT (shucks!).
So the first bulk of work that will start to appear on this blog will be the following:-
- The Minotuar Vs Lamenter vignette.
- The Space Wolf diorama 'Counter Strike'.
- A 1/72 King Tiger diorama (probably the longest shelved project I had!).
- My 15mm Dwarf army and 10mm High Elf army.
- My Dystopian Wars COA battle force - I need to finish this in order to join in the fun.
- My Space Wolf force. I have been dragging this for so long its shameful.
- Last but not least, several 54/70mm figures than are in various stages of completion including
- Conan the Barbarian
- Wolverine
- A Viking Warrior
- A Celtic Warrior
During the following months I will start to post articles on the above mentioned projects as I start to work on them and hopefully finish them as soon as possible. I will start nothing else - not even for competitions. I've projected at least a year to get through everything.
In between project posts, I will publish reviews on kits I buy or have bought and other commentaries. This will give me time to get work done on the projects. Next February, though, will be dedicated to 'Laputa', the diorama I build for the Hobbylink TV competition. So stay tuned for that. I promise it will be interesting. Well that is all for now.
Farewell and good heath,
