Recycling works slightly differently in Malifaux...

The 'Open Graves' box contains enough parts for six miniatures...namely Nicodem, his Vulture Totem (3SS), Mortimer (9SS) and three Punk Zombies (7SS each). It also contains stat cards for each one and six upgrade cards four of which are for Nicodem, one for Mortimer and one that can be given to either Nicodem or Mortimer.

This makes the Soulsstone value of the box...

Nicodem (0), Vulture (3), Mortimer (9), Punk Zombies (7, 7, 7) Total (33) or (36) with a maximum Soulstone cache and (44) with maximum 'out of the box' upgrades.

The box has one sprue set in it which consists of four sub-assy's in it as well as the aforementioned cards...

Lets have a look at each of these in turn...should there be any assembly issues with any of the models then they will be listed in the appropriate section and you can view larger versions of the smaller pictures by clicking on them. Wyrd Miniatures also seem to have stopped putting instructions in things and instead give you a leaflet with a web address on it that leads to a number of links.

I've put them here so you don't need to. Just click on them for larger versions...

Nicodem comes with a Mindless Zombie that he's summoning from the ground that goes on the base with him...mine will be getting a base of it's own to use as a scheme marker so I've photographed it separately.

One of these can also be given to Nicodem and is labelled as such.

The join between the lower body and the legs (holding the skull) is quite small on one of the legs and needs to be aligned carefully.

The arms on all of these zombies are rather thin which creates the usual set of 'glued part to thumb while holding together' issues that we all as hobbyists know and love. You also need to be especially careful when removing parts from the sprue as any unnecessary filing or extra trimming greatly effects the quality of the joint due to the small contact area.

Here are some comparison shots between the old metal miniatures and their newer plastic versions.

Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.
