Now that the Stormclaw Box is soon upon us I had to think of GW campaign sets again and how much I’ve always liked them. Back in the day when I was playing regular Warhammer the box sets like Circle of Blood really got me. As an Undead Player and my friend the Bretonnian Player this was nothing but great for us: New exclusive characters, terrain, scenarios to play and a cool background story. This was and is exactly what I’ve always liked about the whole hobby.
So yes, colour me excited regarding the new Stormclaw box (even if it lacks terrain). These days 40K is the main interest and as a preparation for the coming box I looked back and had to think of the old Battle for Macragge Starter Box set for the 4th edition. I think this set is quite underestimated as it has this charm of a campaign set aswell. There were even some extra Missions in the White Dwarfs after its release which proposed new units in new missions and a step by step building for a new army.Back then when it was released I failed to complete to paint and play this missions due to several circumstances. But now that the hobby related nerdiness has improved I am ready to give it another try. Club comrade Flattervieh will take the side of the Space Marines and I’ll build up the Splinter Fleet Lotan a bit. So we won’t play the exact campaign but instead import it to our own background.

But of course one does need terrain and that’s why I sat down and finished the last piece of the crashed Aquila Lander.
