Hey guys! Well I have had a very sad week with plenty late nights and hotel stays jam packed with spreadsheet analysis, basically replacing all my #HobbyTime. I have done a bit of work on the ETC lists analysing the make up and break down of the list by race, team and army “type”. So first off a bit of disclaimer, sorry to anyone whose name is spelled/typed incorrectly, obviously this was a lot of work and corners may have been cut where they were not analysis critical. Secondly I will not update this work based on list amendments, that would be a huge admin exercise to check and double check plus it will not massively effect the stats. Thirdly there will be errors, I am only human (despite the robotic state I feel in now lol!). It would be awesome if someone had done something similar for the 2013 results to compare and spot trends!

Anyway this is obviously a departure from this blog’s norm but I felt it would be a laugh to do this (it was not lol!). So first off below is a link to the data. Feel free to download and extrapolate as you see fit, also a full list of the armies can be found HERE

Drop Box Link: 2014 ETC List Analysis WHFB

So as a general guide to data I have collated the count of levels of magic(by lore), number of BS shots, warmachines, deployments, characters, army type and general type. Army type and general type is a subjective comment based on how I perceive the army/general, eg ranged, combat, hybrid, magic etc. These are my opinions and are definitely not fact lol! In general the lists are in my mind (and apparently the internet’s) much safer and, well to be honest, boring this year. There are a few exceptions to the rule but it’s a bit of a shame that teams like Australia haven’t returned with #ManHammer lists to crush ass. This will probably make for one of the closest fought ETCs yet. Despite the attempt to comp death magic it is still by far and away the most common lore. Here are some interesting overall facts:

Total Lores of Magic at the ETC: 1623
Most Common Lore of Magic: Death (245)
Average Lores of Magic: 6.3
Most Common Race: Dark Elves(28)
Least Common Race: Beastmen(0)    (!?!?!?!?)
Total Characters at the ETC: 1170
Average Characters: 4.57
Total Deployments at the ETC: 2469
Average Deployments: 9.6
Total Warmachines: 564
Average Warmachines: 2
Total Ballistic Skill Shots: 8493
Average Ballistic Shots: 33.2

So to lead off I will give some comments on the subjective scores as these are probably the most interesting. I have classified each army by type to be: Combat (C), Ranged (R), Hybrid (H) and the generals by Combat(C), Magic (M) and Hybrid (H). These codes then combine to give an army “Blood Type”, for example a hybrid army with a combat general would have the blood type “HC” (which is the most common army type at the ETC). See below for graphs!

Right rather than go through all the data and basically repeat what is contained therein (read it please and form your opinions) I’m going to give out titles/awards for some particularly extreme lists or interesting factoids!
