Well its official, I am one year old!  Its hard to think that I have been doing this for a year now and how far the blog has come in a short time.  First I really want to thank all of you that take the time to read the blog and leave comments.  I enjoy being able to talk to you and give advice and hear yours.  This has been a great experience and I will continue to blog as long as I have the desire to keep on doing this.

Its been fun ride so far, frustrating at times I will admit, but overall I like getting the chance to post my thoughts and share my enjoyment of the hobby with all of you.  I will continue to do so, and this will continue to be a place for open and constructive discussion.  Its ok to disagree, but continue to keep it civil, and complaining is annoying so if you have something you don't like its fine, just doesn't need to be repeated in every comment.  Thankfully this really hasn't been an issue and I thank you all for that.

And its been a good year for the hobby.  The new codex and edition are something I have been enjoying.  I know its been polarizing, but things seem to start to settling out from the whirlwind of the last year.  7th is fun, with a few kinks, and most of the new codexs are good but not eldar good, which is refreshing.  I know that some don't like the "blandness" but I think its a necessary reboot, 40k has been increasingly over the top with codex one upmanship and a leveling of the playing field is needed.  Though it may be a while till eldar get a new book the brings them in line, its coming.  I like supplements and dataslates, they add little tidbits for those that want them, and keep them from being shoehorned into a book they don't really belong in because there is nowhere else for them.  Getting the flavor back in supplements is something I am ok with, as I like to take a longer view and see what all can be added in the years after a codex is released.  I remember waiting years for a new book and models.  Can anyone say that is an issue anymore?

While it may not seem that great at first, when I have my Ig book and multiple supplements down the road, I will be very happy to have many different ways to play my army.  Its a different way to play, and honestly is an old one.  40k used to be like this a long while ago, and while it certainly isn't the same, its a good direction to go in.

In short I am excited about the next year and look forward to talking about it and my experiences.  Here's hoping the IG remain strong and keep on fighting!  And maybe a supplement one day :).
