This Michael Mudd Memorial Tournament has come and gone for the sixth time. This 40k Tournament is a charity event that helps raise money for the local Animal Shelter in the name of a fellow Gamer. Michael Mudd. That Passed away before his time. This tournament has been held in his honour and name ever since.
This year… WAS AWESOME.
So I am going to take you on a quick journey to the Michael Mudd, post some cool pics and let you guys know how it went. If you are a follower of the Blog you know that I had been gearing up to go to this event all year (since the last event) and I was very excited… I would be using the old Dark Eldar book because of the release schedule from GW. SO!.
The event hosted 40 spots for the 40k tournament… and 41 showed up! … So I dropped out of the tournament to allow the odd player to play. We had a ringer army, but not enough tables! So, what an awesome start!! NO DROP OUTS! I have been to tournaments for years, and this is the first time that I have been to one where there were no drop outs… WOW. So, lets take a look at some of the cool armies on display:
These are the ones that stood out the most, and that were painted and based. The event showcased some really nice local talent! And pulled gamers in from all over the region! The furthest hailed from the Gaming Community in Sudbury Ontario. What a great way to help out!
Eldar and more eldar:
The armies looked amazing and the tables were no different!
All in all we raised over 2800 dollars for the local shelter. And Mikes dad came down to the event to hand out all the prizes. Its awesome that his family has continued to have a great impact and presence at the event.
Well. Thanks to all who came, and next year will be even bigger ! So if you fancy travelling to a great tourney and event in Stratford Ontario Canada… Start planning now! There is a year to come but the planning has already started for the seventh one.
Cheers! What are your best experiences at a tournament?
Skari - out.
