Mr. Rountree has been a Games Workshop employee since 1998, and is currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer This decision seems to have already been met with disappointment from the internet, who lament GW’s decision to hire internally Likewise, Tom Kirby, Chairman and Acting Chief Executive Officer, and soon-to-be Non-Executive Chairman, has been sharply criticized for his leadership of the company Sounds like the GW hate-train will be chugging right along for years to come! WHAT BEER ARE WE DRINKING!! I’m not :( A new campaign is coming! Shield of Baal: Leviathan will feature an invasion of the Shieldworlds of Baal (homeworld of the Blood Angels) by Hivefleet Leviathan. The campaign set will contain 2 hardcover books Volume 1 is a 152 page, narrative campaign book (no rules), detailing the initial phase of the invasion ─ it will likely contain some cool fluff about the Astra Militarum, Tempestus Strikeforces, Adepta Sororitas, and Hivefleet Leviathan. At this point, it does not look like the Blood Angels will be involved in the initial stage of the Tyranid invasion and the Imperium’s defense of the system. Volume 2 is a 64 page rulebook, containing: 6 Narrative Scenarios A Cities of Death Campaign Expansion Fighter Aces / Death from the Skies ─ Aerial Combat Rules New Tyranid: Units Detachments Formations At the moment, it looks like we will not be seeing any Blood Angels content just yet. If this campaign mirrors the Red WAAAGH! campaign, this initial release will just feature AM/IG & SoB v. Tyranids, and will be followed up by a Limited Edition Campaign Box, featuring two exclusive character sculpts, followed by a final set of campaign books, featuring the Blood Angels (and, likely, their Flesh Tearer successor chapter), and maybe another faction (Necron?), right before the end of the year. It would seem, that a Sisters of Battle update would make sense here, but there doesn’t seem to be much talk, or hope, of such an update. Chris thinks the Sisters might get a multi-use plastic kit (one with enough weapon options to fully kit out a squad with multiple combinations of heavy/special weapons) just to keep the fans happy, but that seems like a longshot. Perhaps a Sisters update will be the “big surprise” at the end of 2014 / beginning of 2015 that has been rumored for the past few months. Necron rumors continue to abound, albeit with a little less frequency. It would seem, that they will be receiving a relatively small release, similar to the Grey Knights, with a few updates to plastic kits, and maybe a minor editor or subtraction of units here or there.
