Been out of the loop due to thanksgiving.  Sorry, hosting thanksgiving is great, but busy and time consuming.  It all paid off though in that on the day of, everything went smoothly and food was good.  In 40k news there has been a "controversy" over some new bases.  This is pretty silly, and seems like people making an issue out of nothing.

Basically there is a new base size for the death company in the deathstorm box set.  Of course cue the end times "now I have to rebase my entire army!!! FU GW!!!!" etc.  Except you don't.  Per the rules themselves the official base size for the model is the one they come with out of their box.  So no space marines don't all have to be converted to 32mm just because the internet squeals.

Besides, who is going to give enough of a crap to try and force you to do so?  TOs, sure they love alienating players and not getting them to pay to come to their events, they hate money.  Or those GW tournament circuits that don't exist and even if they did you wouldn't have to anyway because their own rules say you don't need to.  So whats the big fucking deal?

So how about quiet down and stop stirring the pot for no f'ing reason.  This isn't even approaching a level beyond "hmph, interesting."  OOHH its a different base size, whats the evil plan?  Oh right there isn't one.  Hey maybe in the long run these new bases will be phased in, even then thats not a bad or good thing, it just is.  Base sizes have changed for units over the years.  Not a big deal, I'm sure termies would be great on their old base size, except they barely fit.  So this is news that really isn't news, calm down there is no base conspiracy.  Your armies are safe from the imaginary base nazis coming to force you to rebase everything.
