Ah, mortal, again we meet.

As you tread down this path to darkness and glory, you will encounter...representatives...of the four ruinous powers. They are the daemons and they come in myriad appearances and guises and are in essence, the power of chaos made manifest.

They are capricious and fickle beings and do not take to being so casually summoned. A ritual of summoning or binding is a serious affair and must be treated with respect at all times, lest the chaos gods smite you or grant you spawnhood. If one or more of the Great Four are pleased with your offerings, they may grant us assistance in the form of these lesser daemons.

Hey all,

Part four of the "hey, I'm actually going to paint an entire army for once" thing. Today's thing is a unit of Plaguebearers. Tempted as I am to rush out and get another box of them, I'd rather try and locate an old daemon battalion cuz that gives a nice spread of the gods (besides nurgle but eh). Kinda wish they came in boxes of 12 though, as that'd be grand.

Anyhow, pics!

This is why I wish they came in boxes of 12- older movement trays don't spread out enough for 5x 25mm bases. Probably will get another box though, as 2 units are better than one and the spare nurglings would make a couple of bases worth. Not a fan of the dog-turd piles of the little blighters.

I do however, like the way the diseased flesh came about- I didn't cover the original reddish colour with the diseased green as

a) I don't like the fully green Plaguebearers GW paints up
b) I want them to look, well, more natural and sinister, as if they could feasibly force themselves into our reality.

These guys made extensive use of the new citadel technicals BftBG and Nurgle's Rot. Those two paints really helped get the ulcers, weals and sores to look quite erm...nice I guess. Plus the weapons were washed with brown (white undercoat on all of them) then a heavy drybrush of bronze, followed by a light drybrush highlight of silver and finally a good helping of Nurgle's rot on each blade.

They could probably use some pants...

I don't think a tetanus shot will help if scratched by that blade...

Well, that's it for now- Xmas is fast approaching and I'm unsure if I'll have time between work and the holiday >.> stupid relatives.
